Zinc chromate cylinder head nut source?

Anyone have a source for the zinc chromate plated cylinder head nuts (10.9, M8-1.25)? I wrecked two of mine double-nutting my old studs :( I only need a couple for the new heavy-duty studs coming in, and I'd rather get new ones. I've also heard the TAS ones on eBay aren't any good (threads torque right out). Don't need the cap nuts, they are in OK shape.

Any recommendations welcome - Honda, other sellers, new manufacturers, Brafasco, whatever... :) I can wait, won't be reassembling the engine for a month or two. :)

Whoever you're getting the studs from (APE or DYnoman, etc) should have the nuts in a hardened variety. I've got plenty of used stockers if you have to "settle". DynoMan sent me a bag full of hardened nuts for my HD main bearing studs. I'll just use stockers on the head, never had any issue with them not taking 20+ft lbs.

I feel dumb to ask this...what's a stocker nut? No references online that I could find that defined that term.

Stock  ;D

Just be thankful you got all of the damn studs out in the first place. I was VERY surprised when I even had three left over nuts when I was done. I went with stock nuts as well on my F2 rebuild and had no issues.

I think they mean the nuts without the flange, regular hex nuts. You should be able to get those at Canadian Tire. They have bins with many M6 and M8 hardware that you can pick out of yourself. Don't know if they are zinc chromate or not. I thought that was a paint? But they have a bright plating that seems to hold up pretty well outside. Some of the head nuts on mine are from the Crappy Tire metric parts bins. Brafasco probably has them also but I think they want you to buy some min quantity like 25 50 or 100?

stocker = stock.  I meant the stock, OEM nut, the one with the flange.
