'76 CB550K wheel seal size help
« on: December 11, 2010, 05:57:33 AM »
I ordered new All Balls rear wheel bearings - but not as a kit, and forgot to get the seals that go with it.  I now would like to order front bearings and have to choose the size for those as well (bike bandit doesn't offer complete kits).  Can someone please help with the sizes I need for front and rear?

I have searched the FAQ and the forum, where I found the correct size bearings, but no mention of the seal sizes.  Also, the fiche doesn't list the size, as far as I can tell.

Thanks in advance

Any help much appreciated. I'm having a hard time digging up actual sizes for the seals.

Thanks

Scott

The sizes that Gordon gave you from Z1 are correct.
If you want the genuine info, here you go:

Rear seal 90753-283-000 (34x55x9)
Sprocket plate o/ring 91262-323-000 (92x2)
Final drive flange to hub o/ring 91261-323-000 (79x2.6)
Front seal 91252-300-003 (22x36x8)
Speedo drive to hub o/ring 91302-300-000 (58x2)

That should seal it all up good & tight.  ;)

Thanks so much guys.  Gordon, that's where I bought the bearings!  I think I looked at the top of that page and saw that 550 wasn't listed and moved on. I have a hard time sometimes with their site wanting to go to parts specific for the bike.

Really appreciate it. Frosty,

where did you get those listings?

Definitely didn't have the sizes on the fiche I have here at home, or the bikebandit one, which was where I was trying to order these parts from.  I really need to get my search skills honed! :)
