G'day from Australia
« on: December 14, 2010, 04:56:03 AM »
Hello all,

Like most newbies, I've been lurking on this forum for quite some time now. I'm amazed at the bulk of information available on these historic machines and the help available from other forum members. Without this forum I might not have had the confidence pursue what's to be a rewarding hobby. Thanks in advance to you all.

Well after months of research and scouring of the classifieds, I took the plunge and purchased this 1978 CB750K K7. It was an eBay purchase from an enthusiast in Newcastle and I was the only bidder. It was a little over my budget but deep cherry red, totally original and with only ~9000k's on the clock - I couldn't go past it. It's no perfect example but it looks like a reasonably well kept 40 year old bike.

My plans are to rejuvenate this old bauty and get her back on the road again hopefully by the Autumn. Some engine work will be needed as the plugs are oil-fowled and I'm yet to diagnose the crankcase chatter (perhaps you could help?) but I've a carb rebuild is underway and I'm learning every minute of it.

Cheers.

Welcome. Nice bike, appears to be in great shape, enjoy.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.
