You guys need to have a volunteer for the Regional Coordinator position for the PNW sign on! You guys can ride all over Oregon if you want once "IT" comes from ID. It's your territory and no one knows it better than you guys. You need to ride what you know and have a blast doing it! There should be plenty of time. There is approximately 6 months total time which equates to about 2 months for each leg across the continent. If I rode one way I could do the whole ocean to ocean thing in 6 days. Do you have anyone in mind that you would nominate for the Coordinator?

In addition to a mascot, has a custom designed flag been proposed. A flag that could be handed off from driver or group to next driver or group? I can just see it flyin' from the back of our bikes. Didn't someone mention a patch for those who ride? That's a good idea and the flag could use same or similar graphics.

well.... i can still help with hotel accommodations if someone has to go the distance to the bay area, i can also ride around the area... i feel bad for whom ever handles a socal to norcal route though.... thats a long ride filled with much of nothing. im in for some great photo shoots around the bay. but id like to see whom else chimes in before i commit, i can squeeze 100 miles or so... fatmatt what  are you going for?

Hey Jerr, I'm interested in maybe joining the CO leg, depending on timing.  We're away for two weeks in Israel for Passover right in April-May.

(Wait!  If I can hook up with Jona in Haifa, we can add another country to the mascot's list!  Lessee, I can pick him up before we leave, bring him back from an Israel ride with Jona, and continue him on his way... Of course, that would delay the entire route by about two weeks.    )

Anyway, I'll keep an eye on timing as this firms up and see where I can join in for a couple of days.

Those of you who are on Sport-Touring.Net are familiar with 'Where's Chili?'  We haven't participated, but that little puppet has been photographed and ridden everywhere...

Barring any unforseen circumstances, I can do Manitoba...or part of it at least as I see someone else has volunteered as well. By looking at the map on one of the earlier pages, it looks like I, or the other guy wanting to do MB would meet up with a rider from North Dakota....I'm all for it!

I also promise to take excessive amounts of pictures for my leg...

I'm in for central Cal: somewhere between Monterrey and Livermore +/-

I'm thinking Monterey up 1 to Santa Cruz then up 9 to Big Basin & through the redwoods to Skyline. Stop at Alice's then either:

- Skyline north to 92 and down to Half Moon Bay then up the coast to meet The San Francisco crew
 or
- down 84 back to 1 then up the coast to SF, the Great Highway, etc...

Of course "IT" has to be transported by a Single Overhead Cam Four Cylinder Two Wheel Conveyance. Otherwise what's the point. My 1983 BMW 320i is a SOHC4 but as it has 4 wheels so I don't think it qualifies. Need some more Utah riders to chime in. I do not think I can cover the whole I80/I15 Corridor myself and there are a lot of great side roads throughout the state.

Definitely each and every mile/km, yrd/meter, inch/cm needs to be on a SOHC4 Honda CBxxx built between 1969 and 1982.  For the Michigan route, I'll be on either my '77 CB550K3 or my '74 CB750K4 from Detroit, through Hell and on to Kalamazoo.  From there, SeanBarney41 on his CB will take it up to meet RatRacer on his CB as we all head to the land of the Cheese Heads. 

With that in mind, when "IT" heads north out of Kalamazoo, I'm planning to ride my Honda made, 4-cylinder, 2-wheeled, vintage, single stick opposite the crank of each cylinder "support vehicle".  Otherwise known as an '82 Goldwing 1100 Interstate.  But hey! the Mrs wants to come along and I alone am the "load capacity" of my 550!!  But as stated above, each inch/cm of the Michigan route has a SOHC4 Currier.

How close are we to being able to create some sort of schedule?   Maybe the easiest way to get started is just alot each state a certain amount of time and adjust it by the size of the state and number of riders signed up.  I'm surprized at how smoothly this has organized so far and I know we can do this.  I'm sure there are more and better ideas on this topic.  What have people been thinking?
