Sissy Bars for cm400t
« on: March 18, 2006, 06:34:22 PM »
I have a 1979 Honda cm400t...I have been looking for a sissybar/backrest with mounts for a while and am having trouble locating one.  Can anyone assist with guidance on where to go/contact it would be greatly appreciated....

Are there any other model Sissy bars that would fit as well?

Regards
Mark T.

You can sometimes find them on Ebay
   Look up cm400A ,cm400T, cm400E, cm400C,cm450 or
    cb400T all will fit the 79---82 that I know of.
      Also the aftermarket ones from a cb650,or cb750 78---82
      can be adapted without much trouble..{been there+ done that}
        Or   Post a want, in the classified section.
                       Hope it helps

OK.Sorry about the confusion but I just wondered why a bike that has nothing to do with a SOHC 4 is here.I guess there is a section for other bikes here though.Sorry...didn't mean to start anything up.

I ended up making one for my 360 out of 3/4 round tubing bent with a conduit bender.  Not perfect but it holds my cooler or son on the back.
Is there not a "other bikes" in the thread line????

I have one, however it is the only one I have seen except in pics.  It came on a bike that I bought for parts.  As far as I can tell, the brackets can be mounted to a sissy bar and you can have a rider backrest also.  That is the only one with brackets I have seen.  I believe that they were seperately bought pieces when new.  The sissy bars that fit most Hondas of that era will also fit.  Many had the same grab rail bolt patterns.  I've heard that ones from Kawis of the same vintage also fit.   :)
