Valve work. Options are "this" or "that".
« on: December 18, 2010, 05:37:18 PM »
So, I just pulled the head off a CB350.  My buddy neglected his portion of the rebuild, which I didn't realize until I kicked it over.  Needless to say, the valves are screwed...completely.  So, I'm considering replacing the valves, or just buying a head off eBay.  Anyone have any thoughts on this, or a spare CB350 twin head to sell?

FYI, the pistons were not damaged.

Thanks,
Camelman

If yours are worn out, chances are an EBay head won't be any better. If your head is good apart from the valves mate, buy yourself some new valves and guides and make it perfect. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

+1 on working with your existing parts. What's wrong with the valves? Are the stems bent? Do they just need to be cut? Can you get by lapping them yourself? The latter is easy and will cost you about $10 for the kit.
