Elusive tire search
« on: December 16, 2010, 04:55:47 PM »
I've managed to find some extra money for my cafe build so I'm redoing both wheels. Right now I have Dunlop k70s which are pretty cool, but I've noticed this trend among some cafe/street bikes that seem to take the build toward a more flat track look, usually the tires are the first signals of this.

To that end I have found, for me at least, the perfect tire, the Metzler Enduro 1:

My problem is that they are not available in Canada, and likely all of North America. I've seen some shops in Australia advertise them and I'm guessing there are some vendors in Europe or the UK as well.

I'm wondering if anyone in Hondaland can point me to some place that might actually have inventory.

Thank you, I must have these.
This project started in confusion and will end in disarray.

That wasn't easy to find. I've never ordered from this place and know nothing about their service, you might want to ask around about them first if you decide to order from them.
They do ship to the US though.

Sorry, they ship to Canada too, and lots of other places...

Thanks for the suggestion. I did look at them but they're not sexy enough looking for me. Also, apparently they're quite noisy.

Actually Dave, they'd be handy in Canada, riding thru the snow...........  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Enduro 2's are cool too, I kinda like them.

But Enduro 3's are a bit rough looking.

as a road tire, they are bad,as a motocross tire they are useless, they look tough though, dont forget as these wear they just get more crappy,a proper road tire gets a little better early on in its life, you want looks or performance?put some on your bike ,take some photos then replace them.,if these tires were any good we would all be using them.you can get near the same patterns for cars, like for muddy farm conditions.

Ah, yes and no Dave, my mate has a BMW R1200GS (big dirt bike thing) with those Metzler Enduro tyres fitted, and it handles really well on the road, I was surprised at how stable it was in high speed turns. No idea how well they'd work on an ancient sohc4 with skinny rims and spindly forks, but they're probably no worse than some of the other tyres I've seen on some of the bikes here. Cheers, Terry. ;D

I think the metlzer enduro 1 and 2 are just plain cool tires. they rate at 90% street, 10% off road.
Alla F thanks for the site, the commerce engine seems a bit flakey but they have have some really cool aftermarket, custom trim pieces that might work well with my bike,
I did find a good supplier of Dunlop K180s that are a direct to my stock rims so that's how I'm going.
Thanks everyone.
