CB750 Hillclimber
« on: December 17, 2010, 07:39:10 pm »
Man, this is a terrible idea.  I definitely should not build one of these.

Anybody know where I can get a CRF450 front end for cheap?

He's rocking an old RC cylinder block too!  Cool bike though, sorry I can't help out on the front end, good luck!

DEFINITELY not...  ::)  ::)  ::)

And especially don't mount a helmet cam when you don't build this thing.
KOS also has that 'Big Bang' hillclimber cam you wouldn't want to use.
 Terrible idea... Definitely...  ;D

Are they fournales air shocks on the back of it? I haven't seen those for many years.

BTW, anyone know why they have covered over the front wheel spokes in the pics?

If it is a timed event, It's probably a beam breaker for the timing equipment.

Maybe, although we use timing beams in the enduros I ride but we don't need those coverings. Can't think of anything else they could be for though...

When you know the meaning of roll in, roll out, & deep stage..you will understand..

 They may be Suzi shocks, I have a set.. adjustable damping rods.. if not they are likely Fournales..

 I missed the RC block.. slipping in my older age... :(

 I have to say that pic must be pretty old. The hill climber i know that was using built GS1100 engines had a dirt frame with a swingarm about 5' long. Maybe it's a class thing....I don't know a lot about hill climbing. He originally started with CB750's and used a 1/4, 2/3 cam. I didn't work that well and that is from the engine builder.

Not sure myself, but only a guess, to stop arms and bits getting caught in the wheel if the rider came off?
