I left last Saturday for a little "equipment check" ride... got home Sunday evening after 800 miles and everything is ready for the relay! I also gave my boss our estimated schedule and received a two week window to play hooky in.
Even though I've had my bike running for a little over a year, I learned 4 important things on my ride:
1) When riding for extended periods of time, clubman bars are most comfortable above 60.
2) My rain suit quickly disintegrated at speeds greater than 70.
3) My bike is capable of about 110.
4) Hitting a dragonfly at that speed generates enough force to crack a turn-signal lens.
There is some minor road construction up here but we should be able to bypass it.
