we could have the folks in PA ride down and pass off IT around the hancock / Camp David area in MD, then down to DC, then back up for a pass off to NY folks at the top of the chesapeake or go back into PA around elkton, then up to NY from the south.

I have a family reunion that starts 6/14, but if IT is here before then, I'd be overjoyed to take IT across md to dc, or dc up north via the cheaspeake route.

We definitely had someone in the dc area who was willing to ride it up to some handoff point near Philly.

I'm planning to pick IT up in Sharon Pa (Ohio Line) and deliver IT east to Maryland. I was hoping somewhere around Hancock. Anyone in that area please contact me to make plans.

Yeah, that's me.  I'll pull into dc, or hand off up to the north.  As long as we don't hit my conflict dates.  Hell, if I can do part of it over the weekend, I'll do the handoff in MD,  then DC and handoff on the way or up to philly.

Nice!  Now all we need is that gaggle of riders who had been on here already, planning on riding that stretch of roads from the south jersey/Philly area up to the north jersey area where Weekend junkie can grab it.

Seems we had a lot more riders on here before who are not piping up now, no?

I'm sure we will get There.

It seems to me, the key here is to get the word on how the thing is coming up from the south (DC, Maryland etc) into PA and then across Jersey.  I could have sworn that the plan at one point was for someone to take the hand off from the riders on the PA/NJ boarder, who will be coming up north with IT.  Then that rider would come into the city - to Times Square (am I crazy with this recollection???).

Then from Times Square - myself (and any others who are on board, would be bringing it up north toward you Bobby.  Palisades was thrown out there, then on to Bear Mountain perhaps, and then further north to Woodstock (route to be determined).

We need to shore up the southern riders coming up north, and then toward the city.  Once here, I think we have it well under control, no?

Originally, I was to get IT in Dover and work up towards Matamoras.  I can do that but will not go into NYC.  It is possible the pick up could be in MD, I can do that and ride to Matamoras or relay to another along the way...Larry

Larry, you do not have to go into NYC. If you can hook up somewhere with the riders taking it across the Ohio border, we still need someone to at least dip into Delaware. Matamoras is still doable or if it is easier somewhere further east.

Awesome Larry.  Where is Matamoros?

Scott, Matamoras is in Pa. It is a point where NY, NJ, and Pa come together. The Delaware river runs through it. It is the major source of cheaper Cigarettes and Fireworks for the NY Metro area. It is about 50 miles from Bear Mountain decent roads that go over some mountains and valleys.

There was a MD rider that had said he could bring IT from western MD or PA towards eastern MD, we do not need to dip into DE as there is a point several miles from my house where  PA, MD and DE merge-it is part of the Mason Dixon survey. I live in West Grove, PA, which is as far from Ohio as one can get...Larry

That sounds like nice riding out there, and I could use the cheap cigarettes :)

So we just need to get it from there into the city. I guess that's where weekend-junkie comes in.

This is starting look good.

Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Doug,

I'm definitely heading up that way with any riders that chime in here for the city part of the run (from TS to the Palisades to meet you) and then we head on up to meet Bobby.

Hey! Sorry I had to skip a few days. I'm in -- that 5/20-21 weekend would be good. I don't see other Philly guys speaking up, but i'll drag some out of the woodwork, just you watch... ;)

Who are the official bearers now? I'm thinking SPWG hands off to me and Photolar somewhere between DC and philly, after he gets it from c5b50. we can work out how best to get it up to philly, which might as well be an overnight - free crash pads abound, as do well-equipped garages (same with bklyn). Any day is good, but that 5/20 - 21 weekend would be great.

then a gang runs it up to Nortstudio in Bklyn.

How does that sound? i still like the lewes-cape may ferry idea. been wanting to do that for years on a bike.

or, rather than spwg, larry, then me, i could meet spwg in DE, and Photolar could take it from me, or join the philly - bklyn run.

what say you?

i'll keep a closer eye on my PMs and this thread now....

-jon

Yeah we are finally getting it together. Jon can you throw up a quick Google map of your planned route so we can start making the meet up points. Dude you wanna take a Ferry, take a Ferry. This is a riders ride, made by and for the riders!
