OK we have a couple of guys but we need more. Here is the rough map of the area we have to cover.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=US-40+E&daddr=US-7+S&geocode=FQhdXAId_pN8-w%3BFdBHdwIdxuCe-w&hl=en&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=8&sll=40.555548,-74.284058&sspn=2.082518,4.938354&ie=UTF8&z=8
only in ny for what, 20 miles ?   at least loop up through newburg, monroe, or what-ever....   can't spell. :-[
That is not a problem, when did the first map there were only 2 of us, now that you are aboard it changes the dynamic. I was gonna run him up to Matamoras PA and do a 1/2 mile loop and hit 3 States which is lame but official. I can cross the CT border in 30 Mins.
None of us have to do this on one day, I would run him around the Hudson Valley and take him to OCC in Newburgh and maybe Paul Jrs as a goof.  Let me know where you want to ride to and we will work it from there.

Can we get a location on each of you so we can start to plot out a route. I will set up a Google Map and and then we can tweak it depending on where you want to go. Andy's New England boys will take the hand off at the CT NY border. Hopefully we can shake some more Riders out of the bushes. I know there are people in Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan.

ok Im in (small chance i will have to work but the odds are very much in my favor),

lets make the route look more like this.. through the delaware water gap.. no tolls.. beautiful rolling hills..   though it takes twice as long staying off the highways. Does this leg have to be one day?

That is much better,  I live about 10 miles from Bear and can pick up there and continue for as long as my 63 year old body permits on a CB400f.   Years ago I rode one all the way to New Hampshire.  82 through the King Ranch is spectacular,  possibly we could pick up River Road out of the New Hope area and take that up towards New York...I'll give more thought to a route...Larry

Yes that is much better. With each new rider it gets better. This does not have to be done in one day at all and you ride as far as you feel you can.  We can skip Matamoras since it is not that interesting, When I was solo I used it as a way to do PA, NJ and NY in one shot trip. It is nothing more than Cigarette and Fireworks stores.

Yes Port Jervis has fond memories for me, but that is another story. That I believe is the famous Goat Trail which leads to the Bear Mountain Bridge.  It is 15 mins from my house and I am on it weekly. Interesting road.

As for NJ. I could intercept from Philadelphia/Camden, run up along the Delaware River and pass off at the NJ/NY/PA connection, State Route 84?

Hey, I almost missed this thread.  How come it's in the Open forums and not in the Owner's club section like all the other team threads?

If I have a bike finished by the time it get's here I'm in.  If not I'll be support\video.

Are we not going to get the little guy into NYC???  Does that route go into NJ at all?  I thought the goal was to go through all 48 states and the provinces???

I'm in Oradell NJ.  I'll ride from the PA border, into NJ, NYC and CT.   I know of some other riders (one near philly, two in my area) that'll probably be interested.  I'll contact them and point them to this thread.

Matt, I had the thread moved. Thanks for the tip. As you can see we are still gaining riders and as we do the route will change with it.

What sort of date is this this coming to the NJ area?   I live in the middle of southern NJ so depending on what route is picked I could hop in for a while, maybe hook up with other(s) from the central/southern NJ area and ride out to the route since we're kind of out of the way of more enjoyable routes.  Mostly depends on the work situation when the time comes.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all. What I would like to propose is that you take this generic Google map below. It is simply a nominal Dover Delaware to Danbury Ct.  Work with it plug in your location and the route you want to take. Send me a link to the map. I will try to make a master map and we can see if we have a route that makes sense. We can collaborate on the route so it works for us and if more riders come aboard we can tweak it more. I have a real concern about the Delaware hand off, so I have t work with the coordinator on that leg.  Remember this does no have to happen in one day. If you have a problem working with the Google map plotting your route I can walk you thru it.

That is great Larry, now I have to get you a hand off, I think Newark is the closest to NJ border, I could be wrong.

If you are talking about Newark,DE that is 10 minutes from my house.  If riders want to continue from Dover on and need to rest I have a large house on an acre with a shop.  Can offer lodging and food if necessary.  I was thinking of heading up route 82 then 345, could then head towards route 29 or into NJ-very scenic but slow routes.  Google is Greek to me btw...Larry

OK, I'm an idiot, I have no idea what you want us to do on that map.  It starts out in google street view at a specific location.

I'm in Oradell (Bergen County) and can go anywhere in NJ, Prefer to stay in the north half of the state.  Depending on the timing I might only be able to offer a support/video/camera vehicle.  Also willing to go into PA, NY and CT.

There are a couple a guys in Bergen County/Hudson county that I've been in touch with before, I'm going to see if they're interested.  If they're in can we detour to the eastern part of the state and get into NYC???

There's a guy on Hondachopper.com down near Philly\cherry hill that want's to be a part of this also.  I'm sure he'll ride anywhere, anyday so we should count him in also.  He'll chime in when it gets closer.

OK take a look at this. I am having a hard time resolving Route 82 to 345. If you can give me the names of towns it would help, I can then
use them as way points.

 nope link didnt work brb..lol

ok I hope this will work.I modified the map from like Yonkers ny to get IT to Matamoras Pa area, where I can intercept and travel to  this basic route and then down to danbury for a hand off. lemme know what ya think.

Len, looks good. Larry and Matt and the Pa folks may want to stay more inland and away from I-95 which is quick but not very scenic. I like your route from Matamoras. I can hook up with you in Newburgh get some shots get some shots in front of OCC ;D and then I can take IT down 9W which is real pretty.
Let's see what Larry and Matt come up with. I don't know much about PA.  Sorry about the crappy link, I fiddled with the map so much I probably broke it.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

Bobby,  I am working on a route that will avoid most all major ugly roads.  Need to know if riders from Dover will stop or keep going. I have off tomorrow and will try to get something to you...Larry
