Lets see thermals, wool socks x 2, flannel pajama pants, cargos, boots...that should keep the legs warm.  :)

WHAT?? No Corona tank shirt, khaki shorts and sandals?   It's 52 and sunny in Jacksonville.  Up here, we'd be opening the pool! :D :D

Ride like the wind, my friends, a nice, warm, Daytona Beach kinda wind!!
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

WELCOME!  We've been looking for someone to help out with a connection between VA and KY.  Right now I'm riding from Charlottesville to Williamson on 4/2 to meet Silverback who's coming from Lexington.  If you'd be able to meet me around the VA, WV boarder then meet Silverback somewhere between Lexington and Williamson that would be great.  Just let us know what you could do.

Thanks

Well I had bit of bad luck this morning.  My fuel still has rust in it, and it continues to gum up my carbs.  Well today it was awful and it put my bike out of commission.  So now i'm riding with Vern in the sag wagon for this leg.  Maybe i'll go up to Tenn and do a leg with them.

Not sure you could count on me at this time....me and the bike both are currently on the sick list.
I'm on standby for an oral surgery appointment, and the 750's carbs are in pieces awaiting assembly and jetting.

I just pulled in safe and sound.  Bunch of pics to come as soon as I figure out how to get em off this I- phone.  Me and Rocker set some land speed records from Columbia SC to Atlanta with Vern and Travis following in the repaired Rav 4.

It was great meeting everybody.  And WOW...what a great couple of days weatherwise.  We were peeling off cloths at every stop.

Wilbur....You are a trooper my friend.  Great job  Also...got to hand it to Vern and Travis for making the trip even though the bikes crapped out.

I think we have a great start here!  Looking forward to seeing the rest of the journey.

This is my second trip as  a result of being on this forum.  It's always like meeting "new old friends".

BTW.....Godzilla had a small run in with Capital Security in Columbia......He totally won the officer over...pic to follow

FWIW.......the two day trek for me and the 550 was 687 miles......can you say "hot tub".....

Nice to meet all y'all and GO GODZILLA.

Cheers,

Bill

Home safe and beat to death. Good times with good friends. I hope we do this again.

Me and Rocker set some land speed records from Columbia SC to Atlanta

Ain't that the truth. My speedo was bouncing around 80ish most the time :)

I snapped a few pics with the Droid but Vern's will be the best. Will post tomorrow. Thanks to him for being such a trooper with all the issues and Travis being our official mechanic.

My brain hurts to type anymore. I still hear the air rushing by me @ 80mph. :)

Sorry it has taken me so long to chime in.  I've been out working on my bike and yes I know it's dark out and it's midnight, but what can I say I'm still pissed! ;)  I also looked at Vern's bike too found his electrical problem, the key switch went bad power in but no power out so he is on an Ebay quest to find another one.  Also found his fuel tap was leaking internally too so he gonna rebuild that too.  Other then that I had an awesome time!!  I was really great to meet everyone (sorry I missed you Wilbur, next time I'm gonna be ready), and I hope we all will be able to meet up in the future for more fun rides!  Oh and by the way Bill I'm still bleeding from that chain adjustment, I have a linch pin here with your name on it. ;D

Sorry to hear about your misfortune for the ride but at least ya got to go along with them. Just wanted to give you a heads up on that ignition switch. I've been reading about cheap aftermarket switches that are out there that don't stand up to the load our bikes produce.Make sure you get a stock switch or maybe a better built aftermarket that will work in it's place. Glad to hear you guys can still jump in with another leg of the ride. I won't have that luxury.......after it goes through here.....it's gone!!!
