My pleasure, I hope everyone has as much fun with "IT" as I have and hopefully we'll have more leadoff riders next year!

GREAT RIDE! Had fun riding with everyone, great group of guys. Too bad Vern and Travis had some bad luck but they turned it around nicely.

Godzilla is spending a couple of days in cola town then he is headed to Charlotte for Sat. Patty's Day.

Glad yall had a good and safe ride!  8)  Godzilla is green, right?  It being St Patty's Day and all  ;D

I am stocked for this ride. Got the 350 Four out of winter storage this weekend - wanted the smallest member of the SOHC family represented on some part of the ride.   :)  The 750 is tuned and prepped as well.
It is a proven fact that modifying a SOHC Honda in any way will bring on the apocalypse.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune for the ride but at least ya got to go along with them. Just wanted to give you a heads up on that ignition switch. I've been reading about cheap aftermarket switches that are out there that don't stand up to the load our bikes produce.Make sure you get a stock switch or maybe a better built aftermarket that will work in it's place. Glad to hear you guys can still jump in with another leg of the ride. I won't have that luxury.......after it goes through here.....it's gone!!!

thanks breeze, i will make sure i get the right switch.

Okay, my turn to chime in. As some of you may  have heard, I got thrown a sh8 load of lemons on Friday afternoon when my bike decided to not work! It was too late for this non-mechanical newbie to get her fixed in time, so I had two choices, spend my weekend pissing and moaning about my bike along with the possibility of  me tagging her with the sledgehammer or  make lemonade and do the ride in my car anyways and act as the team photographer and SAG wagon. I'm glad I chose the latter, because I got to make more new, very cool friends along the way. Poor Travis, my bad luck may have jinxed him also, because his bike screwed him that morning also and he decided to hang in there an ride along with me, and believe me it's was a damn good thing he did because about 100 miles into our ride with us leading the bikes, my car blew the water pump and we had to pull over into a  a church parking lot before I fried my wife's engine!  She's still in Israel and doesn't know yet, say a prayer for me fellows!
At this point I'm about to have a cardiac right there but fortunately for me Travis just happens to be a mechanic, so we send the guys on their way to Sandersville, call a tow truck, Travis breaks out his tools and begins to take the water pump out while we wait for the tow truck who deposits us in the Advance Auto parking lot in Milledgeville. A few hours later and a little cussing, Super Travis has us back on the on road. We took the slab into Bluffton to make up for all of that lost time. What a first day that was.
Then next day  was great and fun, even though me a Travis were tempted to knock those guys off of their bikes and ride for a while.  I'm glad I went, it's nice to put a face to a handle.    Also, when we got back to Atlanta, Travis took the time to look at my bike and find out what was wrong with, even though it was late and he'd been stuck in the car the entire weekend! I  hereby nominate Travis as the Hero of the Month. Make sure you guys pack your own Travis for your rides, you never know.  Here's a link to my photos, they're not in order yet, I wanted to get them up fast.Vern

Wow Vern.....someone posted you lost the serpentine belt but now that you tell us water pump.....that means it was the timing belt!!! (big difference). Glad you guys were able to get it going again so quickly and didn't blow up yer woman's car!! Even though you couldn't ride....I hear you will be able to do another leg of it later. Thats very cool!!! Talk to ya later,Fred

Just pieced together my ride this weekend. Google maps says 728 miles. It goes from my house back to my house.

Riders, please post your logs here:

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=85509.0

Be as detailed or brief as you like, but please share any eventful moments of your ride, interesting people you may have met, what you liked the most, etc. Don't need lots of pictures, maybe one of the handoff or maybe a group shot of the riders you were with for however far you were able to ride. You don't necessarily have to be the one that carried the baton, but you do have to have already ridden in order to post there.

Please reserve that thread for RIDER LOGS ONLY. Comments to the riders logs there would stretch that thread out to be quite large long before the relay nears completion. By keeping that thread limited to RIDER LOGS ONLY should help improve readability for many of our forum members. I have renamed the "Godzilla Sightings in Daytona!" to "Godzilla Sightings in Daytona AND BEYOND". Please continue to use that thread for posting comments, quick updates, creative pictures of Godzilla, expanding upon the unfolding story of Godzilla's adventures, (almost) anything goes in that thread. Please reserve the Rider Log thread for factual reports and rider's insights only. Our forum moderator will be deleting comments from the Rider Log thread to help promote it's linear progression as our Relay moves forward.

Enjoy the ride guys, Godzilla's comin your way!

Just got my route for 3/27 figured out except for a possible few tweaks.  Got at least 2 others riding with me for this leg.  Gonna have to figure out the following weekend and see if I can rope anyone in for the long haul.

From Jeff Ray @ Barbers:

Hi John,

Back from Daytona and other travels.

The program sound like it is shaping up! Do you have an official press release outlining the program? We can arrange for local media coverage if you have something to promote this.

The April 15th Friday afternoon arrival works well. The Track is under contract until 5 PM. We should be able to gain access soon after 5. You ask about camping. How many campers do you anticipate?

The track lap will be a  paced lap by me or one of our track employees. We just completed a trick CBX and a lap around the track on it may be in order!

Keep me informed as things progress………….

We'll be leaving Charlotte about 8:00 AM on Saturday and hope to be there in time to see your first run of the day.  Have fun and good luck at the track fellas!
