Well Bender,

Looks like you and I will be the some of the first F riders on the relay.  I just got mine to the point where I can do test rides and isolate any other PO related problems.  Looks like I'm down to getting a new chain, side cover (from Frankenbike), rear master kit, and a front caliper kit.  Gotta love a lazy PO.  But at least I'll have rear suspension on this trip! ;D

I was trying to get this one ready but It still needs to be cleaned and the 19 year old tires need replacing! I started the cleanup but stripped an exhaust bolt! I need more time before i drag it a couple hundred miles anyway. Oil carbs are done. Valves points sync still needs to be done. Cut the original? chain off the other day.

Dropped my 750 off at my mechanics this past weekend. He'll have her for about 2 weeks. She'll be ready to go for the ride.

Since everyone else is posting pics, heres my bike

I got some saddlebags the other day, need to modify them a bit but think they will work fine.

And with the emblems ripped off. I hate branding on items.

Nice looking bike there.  Where did you score the handle bars and the bags? I've been thinking about changing my bars, but I not sure how comfortable they would be on a long ride.?

Ride that thing!!!

Bluezboy, to answer your questions.....The handlebars came from the local motorcycle junk yard. I have not the slightest idea what they are from. I just walked in looking for some low rise handlebars and this is what the guy dug up. They have about a two inch rise maybe.
Here is a better picture

As you mentioned they are not the most comfortable on long rides they kinda stress your lower back. But they look cool!

The bags were hangin on the wall at the local motorcycle shop, I went to get a tire mounted and talked myself into them(had been looking a a few different types online, this was one of them). Needed some way to haul stuff on the bike a backpack just won't cut it. I need to modify the front strap to clear the seat hinge and lock and they should work, hopefully. They are Coretech sport saddlebags if anyone is interested. I will post some more picks after I get them properly mounted

Yeah you're right, I'll have to keep on riding her before our trip. I could probably ride all day with those bars since I used to pedal my bike all over Georgia for days at a time, I think my old back could take it. They do make your bike look bad ass, I'm jealous!  Maybe you'll let me sit on it when we stop for breaks.

Just got all the last parts ordered up for my F.  I really can't wait for March, this is gonna be fun!  I feel left out I'm gonna have to get some better pics of my bike so I can post 'em.  It may not look as good as CBowers ride, but it should do all right.

Well hell, if Rocker is going to do yours, he may as well do mine so we're all up to snuff with his ride. If I can motivate myself enough this weekend I'll get out there with the steel wool and work on my spokes some more,  hmmmm...

WOW,
I haven't been watching this forum as good as I should.....

madmtnmotors,
I will be in Daytona on the 12th and would like to meet up for breakfast and ride to the Ironhorse and at least a little way up the coast with you. I have to be back over in Tampa on Sunday so I can't go to Savannah.

Unfortunately the 550 is not up to the task at the moment and I will be on the Goldwing (Technically my Goldwing is an SOHC4) but I would consider it an honor to escort you a short way on this momentous undertaking.

Allright! Finally got some company! However far you want to ride is fine, there should be some good photo ops in St. Augustine if you can go that far. You would have heard from me soon since I plan on contacting as many of the Florida members as I can to see if I could drum up some more participation.

Glad to have you onboard! I'll be contacting members as we get closer to exchange cell phone numbers and confirm schedule dates.

yeah, yesterday was a great day for riding, I only rode for 30 minutes! I hope we get this kind of weather for our ride, instead of rain. Try not to leave us in the dust on that hot bike, my girl may take it personally.

No need to worry, I won't be leaving anyone behind. ;)  If only it were clean and shiny,  the paint appears to be someones rattle can job from many years ago.  But come this winter it's gonna get new paint.
