Topic: Team Pacific Northwest - ID, OR, WA, MT, WY, AB, BC

Dont have the time to coordinate, but am anxious to join in on a portion of the adventure. 
Mercer Island/Seattle to Everett/Marysville or Monroe/Sultan.
If any of you who are hauling it up from Portland need a place to stay, we've got a busy house, but plenty of room. 
Inside, or tent it on the clean 1/2 acre.  BBQ. Hot Shower, Cold Beer. Place to wrench. Whatever you need.
All are welcome. 
I'm just 20 min East of Everett, with minutes access to I-5 or HWY 2.

Where's the hand off from the East coming from? Should we be including Idaho in the PNW run, or grabbing it at the Oregon border? or is someone bringing it all the way into Portland? and again....when? So far I'm seeing one other Portland guy and two maybe three Seattlers..any Idaho folks out there? Any locals who just haven't spoke up yet?

After looking at the "Co-ordinators" thread, I see ID is in fact, included in our area...who's handing off from Montana to Idaho? and when?  So, while I'm not actually volunteering..we do need a list of who's where and wants to do what....We never seem to have a problem getting a buncha folks together locally for rides around town, who's up for a ride from PDX to say...Chehalis or Olympia if you don't want to go all the way to Tacoma or Seattle? Some of the WA guys could fall in around there..  but we really need to here from the Idaho and Montana crowd...

I am planning to ride the Idaho portion based on the map below.  I don't know if anyone is planning the Montana or Wyoming segments.  Since I am also planning to do the Nevada segment (lots of miles to ride to get that done), I'd prefer that I meet up with someone in eastern Oregon somewhere for the handoff, but I can discuss it.

I'm looking at the eastern Oregon section and thinking how fun that'll be, so I'm definitely interested. I might ride 84 to Boise, then meet up to ride the 20 to Bend and back to Portland. If I did that route, I'd definitely suggest an alternate route from Bend to Washington though. At the very least, the current route doesn't even hit Portland. I'd suggest from Bend to go up 97 to Madras, then take 26 in to Portland. From Portland, there are many nice routes out to the 101 if the coastal route is desired. My guess is that we could round up a pretty good posse to hand off from Portland to Seattle.

Hey guys, right now the north and the northwest do NOT have coordinators which is going to present problems eventually. Derek aka Seaweb11 has agreed to take western Canada. At this point there are few if any riders in Neb, SD, ND, SK, AB, MT, WY. This is currently the weak link area. As far as WY goes I'm thinking perhaps to pick off WY by making a pass through Yellowstone from MT into ID. WY also could be gotten from the south but we have very few UT riders and the route through UT will probably be more southerly. As a last ditch effort for WY one of our more northern CO riders could take a quick trip to the border and back. I hope we don't have to end up skipping a Province or a State to make this work so we still need coordinators  for the whole top left corner of the US map and riders except for WA and OR. I haven't taken any attitude other than WE CAN MAKE THIS HAPPEN and we should be able to. A contigency plan could include skipping the Provinces, SK and AB if we don't have riders but I just don't like that option and it's too early to go there.

You guys keep working between yourselves and maybe we can find the solution soon. Thanks for all the hard work and effort.

I thought when this started that this region would be the hardest to get riders to participate.  Population density is low and distances are long.  As far as I know, I am the only active forum member in Idaho.  My concern is that I could easily bite off more than I can chew time wise.  I figured based on the map that I would take the handoff in eastern Idaho, so cutting the corners of Wyoming and Montana would be no biggie for me if we want to make sure we hit all the states.  However, having someone to meet up with for the handoff to me might be the problem.

I'm hoping someone over in the Wenatchee/Pullman/Spokane area will sign on and volunteer that area.  The Palouse-Okanogan-Osoyoose ride could be spectacular.

Getting the handoff from Boise, ID then into OR over to Portland might be the best way to go.
Maybe 101 up from Portland to Olympia-Seattle, then N to Everett.
Over Hwy 2  to Wenatchee (or up to Mt Vernon, and 20 East to Omak), then picking up 97 and head north to hook up with the BC riders up in the Oroville/Osoyoos border area.....754 maybe? He's +/- 100k N of the border.
Kinda criss-crosses the state, but hits the areas with the most riders.

its amazing!!! Hwy 20, that is.
Hwy 2 is probably the most dangerous in the state.  A 1-laner pretty much until you hit Wenatchee.
Too many RV's and trucks and small cars trying to pass at any cost. 
But the 10+ miles of twisties in Tumwater Canyon along the Wenatchee River as you enter Leavenworth is a sweet little section

I've never ridden 20, but yeah it looks fun. I'd do ANYwhere in eastern Oregon and know it'll be fun.

WE NOW HAVE A REGIONAL COORDINATOR FOR TEAM PACIFIC NORTHWEST - BIKERBART aka BART HAS VOLUNTEERED HIS TIME AND EFFORTS TO MAKE TEAM PACIFIC NORTHWEST THE BEST EVER - PLEASE WELCOME BART AND WORK WITH HIM TO MAKE YOUR RIDE THE VERY BEST IT CAN BE. 

Unfortunately I have NOT been able to get a committment for a Regional Coordinator for Team Western Canada, Team Pacific Northwest, Team Northwest, or Team Eastern Canada. What I am going to do is some realigning until we can find some guys that will help out. We really need to get coordinated and rolling so I believe this is the best course to take at the moment. These changes do not have to be permanent and hopefully will not be but if the newly realigned regions' rides and riders begin to take shape we may not be able to make further changes back.

Please refer to the new regional realignments for updates and contact that Coordinator for participation or questions. As always I am available to answer questions also.

After I do the Nevada portion, I intend to ride the Idaho leg when the relay gets back out west.  As I mentioned before, I'll try my best to plug any holes in adjoining states.  Does the map below still represent the big picture?

"Kinda" representative. Wishful/hopeful thinking. We have to have riders to cover the areas. It can definitely be adjusted. AB & SK are almost non-existent at this point but there's still plenty of time for that area. I do have 1 rider that may be able to do E.BC to Waterton/Glacier. If necessary I'd like to think Team Central Rockies could make a quick swing north and pick off the southern WY border and eliminate that from the northern route. I'm open for suggestions and any/all volunteers
