I don't have a passport either, so we either need an International border crossing rider, or someone with a good enough arm to toss IT over the fence.... ;D

I read that the boys in Nogales were using a catapult to toss drugs across the border!  Hopfully, we don't have to resort to building one.  Crossing the border from Canada to the US has become a bit of a hassle and yes you need a passport and a clean driving record ( no DUI ).
I don't want it to go like a motorcycle, I want it to go like a rocket!

When I came south at Osoyoos it was a breeze. Fairly busy but not bad. Got asked the usual questions and when he got to the part about alcohol I remembered that my cooler had 3 cold beers so I told him. I asked if he wanted me to pour them out. He said if he were I then he'd pull just up the road and pour them down the old hatch  :D Them he said "welcome back home". Totally different than when I crossed south in ND from Regina!! Shake down big time butt no cavity search.

you seem to run into more problems coming into Canada then going down to the states the U.S border guards have always been pretty cool to me. the Canadians are dicks... as a Canadian citizen then should be welcoming me back with open arms not hassling you and making you feel like a criminal.

Hey guys, I've been waiting to chime in until I knew where I would be this summer, but I know now!  I live in MT, but will be working in Greybull, WY (Forest Service).  I'd gladly ride along with anyone, but due to the nature of my job, I can't commit to being the only rider for a leg.  I also have a 2-hour callback radius, so that's potentially 4 hours I can be a part of this thing.  Let me know how or if I can help.

Signed up today.  Located in Calgary, but originally from SK.  Wouldn't have any issue meeting someone for the SK hand-off either up north by Lloydminster or down South by Medicine Hat, or anywhere between.  As has been said, our leg is a few months out, so we've got time to figure out the details.

Hey guys, I'm up here in Edmonton AB, willing to participate. I cannot cross the border, as I do not have a passport, but I don't see any reason why I can't take IT down to the Calgary/Cochran region, after taking it from a Sask rider. Of course, that is if IT even makes it this far North.

Assuming we get the tour up around Lloyd, or whatever a northern SK handover looks like, I'd definitely be open to riding up to Edmonton and over there with you and make the trek back towards Calgary.

Sweet! That sounds like a great idea. I may have a friend joining me with a '79 650, once we get the details hashed out. I am so stoked to be a part of this, I sure hope it works out.

If someone is willing to maybe let me crash at their place in portland 2 nights before the Boise hand off and someone in Boise offer a spot on the floor to sleep the night before, I volunteer to grab the torch and join up with riders in portland and go as far north as we end up taking it. (including Alaska if there is interest up there)

Riders, please post your logs here:

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=85509.0

Be as detailed or brief as you like, but please share any eventful moments of your ride, interesting people you may have met, what you liked the most, etc. Don't need lots of pictures, maybe one of the handoff or maybe a group shot of the riders you were with for however far you were able to ride. You don't necessarily have to be the one that carried the baton, but you do have to have already ridden in order to post there.

Please reserve that thread for RIDER LOGS ONLY. Comments to the riders logs there would stretch that thread out to be quite large long before the relay nears completion. By keeping that thread limited to RIDER LOGS ONLY should help improve readability for many of our forum members. I have renamed the "Godzilla Sightings in Daytona!" to "Godzilla Sightings in Daytona AND BEYOND". Please continue to use that thread for posting comments, quick updates, creative pictures of Godzilla, expanding upon the unfolding story of Godzilla's adventures, (almost) anything goes in that thread. Please reserve the Rider Log thread for factual reports and rider's insights only. Our forum moderator will be deleting comments from the Rider Log thread to help promote it's linear progression as our Relay moves forward.

Enjoy the ride guys, Godzilla's comin your way!
TAMTF...

Hi Everyone!
I am in south eastern Idaho in a town called Idaho Falls.  I would love to participate in this ride!  I can easily take "IT" from the Montana Border (West yellowstone on HMY 20 or Lima, MT on I-15) or wyoming border (HWY 26 at Alpine, WY) or at Jackson Hole, WY.  Then I could take it to Pocatello or American Falls to hand off to Ofreen.  Big thanks to Ofreen for being willing to bite off such a huge chunk of this relay!

I sent Jerry a PM and I hope to hear back on this thread from Bart and the rest of the crew if I can be involved.
Thanks!

Howdy Josh, good to have another Idaho rider involved.  Ndstrylgrnrngr has a plan to ride to Montana then back through eastern Idaho, then head west.  Check farther back in this thread for what he intends to do.  My plan has been to play it by ear and probably join up with him at some point.  I expect we'll stay in touch in this thread and work something out as time gets closer.

So is there a firm route near the end to cross into BC?
I had volunteered to pick IT up on Hwy97. and take it over to the coast probably on Hwy 3.
Is that still the plan or is it going up I-5?

Be nice if a rider from the coast could meet up with me partway..

Hey guys! I just had a thought... What would you think if Godzilla makes a stop in Vulcan, for a few shots with the Enterprise, and maybe even Nanton, at the Bomber Command Museum?

Been thinking about photo ops in AB.  I think Drumheller would be an absolute must for Godzilla to visit.

The Reynold's museum in Wetaskwin might have a cool display on at the time too.

Anyone want to be coordinator,I dont have as much time as I thought and have health issues taking my time as well.Anyone heard of sarcoidosis? Its a wierd disease,I have been going through a barrage of tests (MRI,Catscan, nerve tests,)At first they told me I had Lymphoma,so far tests are negative, but I still need a lumpectomy.I am in a lot of pain and working on my bike is becoming more difficult, not to mention time. Its affecting my lungs, skin, joints amongst other things.Someone else do this for me?I still have to work everyday and at the end of my work day I am shot.(I also have a 5 yr old on top of this.)I know this is all personal stuff but I want everyone to understand I am not a flake. :-\
