We could change the lyrics to anything.

We are the sohc, motorcycle army
we got 350, to 836
We will wave at you, when you wave at us
even if you, ride a hog

Someone else come up with the next verse.  ;)

Speaking of TX, where is Dynoman located? Perhaps someone could stop in for a photo op and say hello to Buzz?! I'm sure he wouldn't mind a little extra publicity.

Looks like Dynoman is in Austin.  Do any of you Austin folks know him or his shop?

I'm working on a stop at Dynoman. Can you guys make it happen if I can get the go ahead?! Take earplugs as I understand they stay busy with the dyno  ;D

Gentlemen, I have what seems to me the worst possible news (for me at least, hopefully not for the relay).  I am not going to be able to make the ride.  Things at work that I'm too green to have planned for coming up and there is 100% no way I can take off.  I spoke to my boss about this about two months ago when I first planned to join the ride and we agreed that it would be best to stay tentative in planning, as work tends to be unpredictable this time of year, but it looks like new business has rolled in at the last minute and I have new deadlines to meet.  Hopefully I can at least meet up with the Dallas guys while they're here, but I can't be gone during the week.

If need be, since I know the OK handoff has been an issue, I can probably roll out of work a little early, make it to the border by 5, take the handoff, and bring it back into Dallas.

Gahhhhh....this sucks.

I was looking forward to hanging out and getting to catch up some more with you.

Cheers, mate.  If you need me to call in a bomb threat to your place of business, just let me know ;)

Attention Austin peeps!!!

I've heard from a fellow rider that the Lake Travis area is quite busy right now.  He advised that we might need a camping reservation to ensure that we have a place to camp.  Can someone who knows more about this verify or check into what might be needed?

I hope we'll be able to stick to the plan and not get crowded out by other campers.  Travelling/camping on a weekday probably helps, but with Good Friday looming, that could be a busy weekend, as some people have that day off work = 3-day weekend.

Are we still on track for the relay hitting austin on the night of the 20th, or do we want the reservation for the 21st?  I'm happy to set something up, just need numbers on how many people, the date, and where everyone wants to camp.  There are a couple options around lake travis.  I am guessing the route and dates are locked in at this point?

I believe we are on-track for the night of the 20th, still.  I'm not sure how many Dallas folks will make it down here (Houston) and then over to Austin, but I would ball-park the Houston contingent at approximately 10 or so - could be more or fewer.  Add the Dallas and Austin riders to that and wow - we should have a good-sized group!  ;D

Ok - I'll check into some large group sites around lake travis for the night of the 20th.  The last map I saw had the route using Lime Creek Rd around the NE side of the lake.  If that's still right, there is a cool spot called Windy Point that might work.

Sounds great!

Speaking of camping, what type of provisions will people pack in?  I haven't done a bike + camping expedition, so I'm wondering about tents, sleeping bags, etc.

It was my understanding that we would hit Austin by lunch time on the 20th and hill country after that.   Camping somewheres further up that night.  That puts us up to Big Spring on the 21st. I had only taken off the 19th and 20th thinking the Hill Country ride would happen on the 20th and I could head back north that evening.

I may have to try to get one more day off.

I am bringing a tiny tent, blanket, change of clothes, toiletries and tools.

I think the hand off that late will mess up the AR/OK riders.  I know that Radam wanted to be back that Monday evening.  Is there anyone else that can meet us at the Denison Welcome center?

Yeah, I have to be back in Fayetteville for work on Tuesday. I can turn back at any point of the trip if things end up being later than planned. It's about a 250 mile trip from Denison to Fayetteville.

I have to be back to work on Tuesday now too..  the state has 'invited' me to a meeting.. LOL  I will be serving on a technology committee.  I could hang around a bit later than Radam since he has some extra distance to ride back home, my other option that I got approved by the wife is that if the bike does well on the LR back to VB trek and down to TX is that I can head back up to AR and spend the night somewhere south of LR and then go to the meeting.. but the weather is supposed to be bad on tuesday so I am not looking forward to that. :)

Does someone have a friend in Denison where we could leave Godzilla and then it could be picked up later in the day when the time is better?  I just thought of that.. is that 'legal' for this relay?

Maybe we could hide it somewhere at the welcome center? I'd just hate for some brat kid to find it and take it home.  :o
