That's a great question!

Who from the DFW area that is planning on riding down to Houston on the 19th can pick up Godzilla in Denison?  That is where it's going, correct?

What time will it be there?

Stev-O  --  Those Lago Vista photos look amazing, so it their ammenities are preferable to the primitive site you mentioned, maybe it would be a good fit.  If there's electricity and water, I'm sure folks would appreciate the civility :-)  Look at me, all wishy-washy!  Do you still have those sites reserved?

I know of another County park, it is right on Lake Travis, a bit out of the way but primitive (no showers, electric, etc). This may suit us better:

Correct, The Welcome center seemed like a great place just north of denison.  we hope to be there by 2:00.  We are going to be getting a little bit of a late start due to our extended ride yesterday.  Cory (cody?) had mechanical issues and Radam and I had to go to Oak Grove LA to get the little monster.  so we just got up when we were supposed to be leaving.. :)  BUT we should be ok.. since we will get ready quick and head out soon.  we have to gas up and get some breakfast but then we should be on the road.  Radam and I didn't get to take any pictures to speak of since we didn't get in til 1:35 AM so we would like to take some picts today.

we still want to get it to you guys today since there are so many of you that want to go to Houston.

I will tell you that my A$$ and my back hurt.. but I am going for it..

see someone in TX around 2:00

Gordon --  I love you suggestion of meeting where the food trailers are located.  It's easy to get to, there's food, plenty of open hanging-out area as people trickle in.  Let's do it!

Good question!  This means you won't be rolling through Houston the previous day, correct?  Leaving Houston in the morning, Austin-bound, shouldn't take too long.  It's just under 2-1/2 hours by car, so adding a little for bike travel should still have us there by noon, I would think.

Austin folks:  Where should we meet up?  We do, say, noon-ish at some place on S. Congress, so everyone can eat lunch and get acquainted.

Correct, I will be riding straight to Austin from Dallas on the 20th.  I think the place shown below would be a good spot to meet up.  I was just there last October.  It's a large, open lot on the corner of S. Congress and E. Milton St. behind a few food/dessert trailers and directly across or down the street from several restaurants.

This location is great.  Plus, its just a few blocks from my house if anyone is in need of garage services.  I'll be happy to open my doors.
About what time will the group be arriving?  I was thinking about throwing this out to a cafe racer meet-up group I belong to.  There are several Honda guys who might be interested.

If things go right, we should be there around lunch time, maybe 2 if we stop a lot or if there is any trouble.  We will be rolling out of Houston first thing, and it is only a few hours.

Hi all!  This is Justin up in Lubbock with some questions.  I am ready to meet up with the relay!  Questions:

1. Do I meet the relay in Big Spring or Lubbock?  I need a date, a time, and a place.

2.  Where is the next handoff point after Godzilla is in my care?  Once again, I do need a date, a time, and a place.

3.  Are any of you Austin, Dallas, or Houston guys, etc. going to ride hard?  Aka, are any of you going to ride with me into New Mexico?  Someone needs to please step up because I would really enjoy the company!

Justin, in Lubbock, TX

I was pretty sure it would be Big Spring on Thursday, then the next drop is in Las Cruses.
I would love to keep riding with you.  Really, it depends on my ass, my back, and my bike.  I will already have several hundred miles under my belt by that point and I still have to get back to Ft Worth.

I know you are not going down tomorrow with us, but are you able to head up to Dennison and pick up "it" and maybe meet one of us tonight?   Or is there anyone on the Dallas side that can head up to Dennison?  It is like an extra hour for me to head that way, and I won't get home until 3:30.

Dallas peeps,  When are we meeting?   We has so many people interested before, but nobody on here for the last few days.

Wish I could, but I'm working, and when I'm not working I have my kids.  I won't be free until Wednesday morning when I leave for Austin.

Anybody heard from TipperT lately?

What happened to the rest of the guys from the DFW area that were planning on riding the Dallas to Houston leg?  My plans were cemented back when the ride was scheduled to go straight from Dallas to Austin, so I was never intending to pick up Godzilla after the route changed to include Houston.  If if comes down to it, I could probably ride up to Denison on Wednesday morning to pick it up before I head back down to Austin, if Coke can leave it there with someone at the visitor center.  But then that would completely skip Houston.

OK, CBGhia.  If this thing is gonna make it to Houston, I think it may be down to you.  I don't know what happened to the rest of the Dallas guys.  I can go pick it up Wednesday morning, but that's kind of a worst case scenario since it won't make it to Houston, and it will have to be left somewhere that I can pick it up in the early morning so that I still make it to Austin at a reasonable time.

We can't be the weak link in the chain. :-\

If someone from Dallas can get out there, it would be great.  Its 1hr each way for them, and more like 2 hours each way for me.  If no one has jumped in here by 2 :30, I will head home, get the bike and make the trip to Dennison. I don't see myself getting there before 5 though.

If the Arkansas guys can go a few miles further to Sherman, it would help me a lot.

I'm leaving for work in a few minutes, so I won't be on for a while.  I'll check back in around 7pm.  Thanks for stepping up, CBghia!  We'll get this worked out even if I have to ride up to Denison late tonight to pick it up.

Hey guys, I'm late to the party on this but I'm in Austin and would love to meet up for lunch on Wednesday and help escort you out of town. My '73 CB500 is only mechanically approved for a couple hundred miles in a day so I'll ride out into the Hill Country with you but that's about as far as I can go.

Next year I'll Pony Express that sucker to Sante Fe if you need me to.

Still thinking noonish at the food trailers on S. Congress?

What about New Mexico???

In six days I'm supposed to ride out to the Arizona/New Mexico border, but I'm still not sure if someone (if anyone) is going to be there to meet me!
