Radam and OldSchool,

I am going to call Taxi at lunch (my cell doesn't work in my office) and try to see if he will meet us in VB at my house on Sunday.  If he can then we can head through OK what everway we want to.  If he is going to meet us in Checota (sp) and head it south we can ride the 69/75 route even though it is a bit boring compared to the 2 laners.. :)

No problem to choose the route y'all wana ride, that's really up to those in the saddle.  Just trying to get a good handle on things to assist Steve (Popwood) with the blogging on MotorcycleClassics.

It's understood that routes and locations are subject to change.  If you wana join the ride, let someone know.  Don't just sit by the road waiting on the thundering herd to pass by!
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Yeah man, I'll be at RvM tomorrow as well, should be a killer time.

With all the dates finally worked out, I see no reason not to hit Houston and then roll through Austin.  Give TX her due, yeah?  I'll check back in soon and see what the other Dallas guys have to say, but I'm honestly pretty stoked to check out Ace.  We have ZERO good bike shops (that I'm aware of, if I'm wrong PLEASE correct me) in the Dallas area.

Speaking of TX, where is Dynoman located? Perhaps someone could stop in for a photo op and say hello to Buzz?! I'm sure he wouldn't mind a little extra publicity.

Time for a roll-call:
1.Who is willing to go from DFW to the OK border and back?
2.Who is willing to go from DFW to Houston? (riders from DFW that are only planning on going partway to Houston should also check in)
3. Who is willing to go from Houston to Austin?
4. Who is willing to go from Austin west? How far?

I can meet for the OK -> TX handoff, I'm in Dallas to Houston, definitely through Austin, possibly to out Big Spring. See how it goes, but that's all I can commit to right now.

I am in from Dallas to Houston and on to Austin.  I will probably turn back north after riding through the hill country on the 19th.

Just to make sure the timeline is set...

OK Texas handoff is on the afternoon of the 18th.

We roll out of Dallas on the morning of the 19th

Meeting in Austin around lunchtime on the 20th

Roll through the hill country and camp.

Head toward Big Spring and be there around lunch on the 21st

Does that all sound right?

Oh, got to meet the architect yesterday at Rockers vs Mods, Dallas.  His bike is nice as hell, he is a cool dude and he has a down girl who rides as well.  Good meeting ya'!

I'm in for the Austin & Hill Country portion. I know the area well and can recomend the best roads, camps, bars and BBQ.
I live in the Hill Country and can help w/tools and possibly spare parts, if needed.

Dallas guys - if you don't have the time/desire to ride the Houston portion, meet us in Austin for the best part of the ride!

It would be great if we could get 20+ SOHC's in Austin.

That's my plan.  I'm not gonna have the time to ride to Houston first and then to Austin and the hill country, and I don't want to miss that part.  I never understood the issue with riding from Houston to Austin to join the relay, and now that the route has changed I'll be riding from Dallas to Austin to join it.  No big deal.

A group camp might be fun.  At the bike shop, I'm thinking there will be a keg and some grub (Mexican, maybe?), so we should have our bellies full, at least.
