Ok  I'm done.  rode out with the new crew for a tank and turned around to battle the wind.  30 mph headwind and in the 90's.  Jerry went on with Pinhead and Doug(?).  Sorry I'm terrible with names.   By the time I get back to denver tomorrow will be another 800 miles.  Wanted another 1000 but its to windy and the beer is cold.   Any one come through oakly this is a nice little motel.   Anny Oakley
Apex you going to make the OBR?

Scottly, glad I could take you back to your childhood memories!  I grew up in the Springs and Denver, so it definitely took me back, too!

Apex, sorry you couldn't make it, but you got to have your fun in the frozen tundra!

Stev-O, the pics Scottly referred to are in the Riders Log.  It's a sticky under the world tour link.  I also put some pics in the Godzilla Slept Here topic.

Jerry/CB650, great job getting GeeZee out to Kansas!  GeeZee will be none too happy residing, even overnight, in a dry county!

CB650, ride safe on the return leg.

I'm Home,
Nice to meet everyone and be able to tag along for a little bit or the relay.
Godzilla is a great guy to party with.
I guess you always dump each bike once. Glad you didn't see it but forgot the side stand at a rest area. Opps.  ;D ;D
Oh yes the head wind. tucked on the tank and about 90 the ride home.

I want to plan on it. This month is busy between work and family but I think I should be able to sneak away for OBR, even if it's just for the morning.

You can come by to just check out the bike's the ride is about 140 miles on the peak to peak through ward then back down through boulder canyon or lefthand.
I think the bikes start showing up around 8.

Just wanted to post a quick message - Had a great time, beer never tasted so good as it did in Oakley's Pizza Hut...

Was great to meet everyone!  Never had a better opportunity to learn so much about CB650's.  Terry's handiwork was amazing (congrats on the new ride, dude!), and can testify to Doug (Pinhead's) ability to work magic with CB650's, too.

Paul - Glad to hear you made it home okay - Neat Goldwing.

Jerry - Thanks again for getting this all to happen.  Will see everyone tomorrow at the interview.  Too tired to write much else!

And what's the Tonight Show stuff mentioned in the "Slept Here" thread??  I think some chain's are getting yanked!!  ;D ;D
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Where's Jerry? !!

That sum#$%* just got home a few hours ago. Sorry i didn't get here sooner as the soon-to-be-X must still think I want to talk  ::) Haven't checked any of this new stuff out yet. I've been thawing my once again frozen ass out! Left Topeka yesterday around 2 and stopped in Great Bend for the night. Made the mistake of watching The Weather Channel. Extreme thunderstorms and tornadoes forecast in W. KS. for today so I got the hell out after receiving a call about my Colorado weather for the day. Hit the edge of KS and the sun came out (for a few minutes) until I collided with the CO front which collided with the KS front. The blustery south wind turned into steady cold north wind I'd estimate at least 40mph. Then I turned west for home and it went downhill from there. No winter clothes this week. MISTAKE!I already had 3  t shirts layed under my Levi jacket under my rain gear. Not enough especially when it started sprinkling right before it started hailing which turned into rain and gropple FOR THE FINAL 60 MILES. Heaven appeared in the form of a sign that said "food 2 miles". I didn't mention this is a 90 mile stretch of BFE! Nothing, nada, zilch! You shoulda seen the look on the faces inside when an old motorcycle pulled up and the old dude on it were both covered in pea size hail stones. Those "chubby" women were the most beautiful women I've seen in a long time  ;) And to top it off I was really stretching the gas issue the bike has and just knew I was going to be stuck on the side of the road in a hail storm. After a half hour warming session I hit the road for gas in 17 miles and more hail and rain. HELLO! Cold and slow. Couldn't see #$%* but I made it at 35mph. More looks of astonishment. Warmed up, headed out for the final trek of maybe 25 miles, weather cleared but COLD. Sign said 37 and an unknown wind chill of DAMN COLD AGAIN. Gotta get the daughter from gymnastics. I'll try to get caught up tomorrow. Bye until later. Did I say holy #$%* yet?!

Glad you made it home safe! The wind has been blowing here for the last 3 weeks; it rained yesterday, and I thought it was going to snow. What happened to spring-time???
