Sounds good to me. I talked to D3buttz last weekend and I think he's planning on trying to head out with us, bike pending. He's just a little farther west on I-70 than me.

I requested the 7th through the 10th off work so I hope the schedule doesn't change too much!

Keeping my fingers crossed too. I was concerned about TX but I don't think they're in NM yet!

I wish I could but I do have several people who will inflict much pain if it's not done before the OBR 9. I know it's not the same but...

I rode OBR 6 & 7. Rode through snow on 7. The Peak to Peak Hwy is always good.

No snow but it feels like it wants to rain.  The mountains have been getting pounded though.

It has been snowing across Nevada.  It is forecast to dry out and warm up a little after midweek.  Utah is supposed to stay cool and unsettled.  Looks like freezing levels 3500-5000' at night.

And it may be a good thing we're not getting an early start next Sunday  :)  I have to start watching the weather reports to determine what clothes to pack. I'd say my leathers and rain gear at the least  ;D  Spring time in the Rockies!

Did that a few years back on AUGUST 17th. 40 here in the morning with fresh snow up high. Checked out CDOT cameras. Roadway was clear so we headed across. Pretty damn chilly for the first couple hours until we got downhill but we took our time and started peeling off layers in Glenwood Springs. Tee shirts in GJ.

Hi Guys:
Sorry to be getting in on this so late.....
I live in Salina KS & would like to meet up with you in Topeka at Motorcycle Classics magazine HQ.
Would you happen to know the tentative time you're going to be meeting Richard Backus there on May 2nd? I take it you'll be riding in from Oakley on Highway 24, spend the night in Topeka & then be at MC the next morning?

Greetings GregW,

It'll be great to have you along! You're pretty much on the money about the plans except for the date. I just updated/tweaked the ride plan slightly today. Check it out here http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=87301.0. I'm expecting to arrive in Topeka later Monday afternoon and meet up with Richard on Tues 5/10 but that has not been confirmed yet. If you're coming in from Salina why not meet up with us and ride in? Please stay tuned and I'll have some more info soon.

Jerry

Sounds great.  I'll keep an eye out for your posts.  Topeka's only an hour & a half away from Salina, so when you decide on a time to get to MC hq, I can meet you at your motel & ride over with ya'll.  Looking forward to hearing from you.

Greg

How did it run?

It ran great 98% of the way, we came down through Boulder and then I found out the hard way my new electronic points were defective and had heat issues. I didn't come to that conclusion until about a month later though, spent about an hour screwing with it on the side of a road that day. I since drilled some air holes in the cover and got a replacement set and then it was all good. On a completely different note, does anyone know a GOOD tig welder in Denver looking for some side work?
