Y'all are making GREAT progress!  The Canadian handoff team will be lead by Jason (Operator).  Please include Jason as you plan the handoff.  And any riders continuing on into Canada would be a good thing for him to know also.  And as soon as you can firm up a date, we downstreamers would really appreciate that too!

Speaking of Canada riding, would anyone wana make a few days of it?  There is a Nova Scotia rider or three that might like to join up if you did a loop from Maine into Nova Scotia and maybe even Prince Edwards Island.  You could drop GZ off with Jason in Fredricton on your way back to Maine or ride with Jason up to Edmundston, Quebec City, Montreal, Toronto, Niagara, Detroit, Kalamazoo...
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Weekly update....and new proposed timeframe...let me know thoughts on each stage...

June 12th - Godzilla gets picked up from the Bobby R and the NY crew at Rhinebeck, NY

June 12th - lunchtime - afternoon - I deliver Gozilla to the CT crew in Oxford, MA (meeting point?). It then makes its way through CT and onto Rhode Island where Ken (BigKO) will take over - coordinate with CT riders for a mid-week transfer?

Saturday June 18th - Ken (BigKO) rides to  Boston to deliver Godzilla. Ride then proceeds onto Vermont to meet Cupcake in Burlington. Ride up Rt 100 or any route planned by Cupcake ;). Goal is somewhere South of Burlington, VT  (camping? Montpelier?) to meet KB02. If Ken from RI is still with us that would be a 7 to 8 hr ride for him going via Rt 100, VT. So chime in Ken - ready for an overnighter?

Sunday June 19th - VT ride to NH heading for the White Mountains/Kangamangus Highway and into Maine (Maine riders need a place somewhere across the NH-Maine border to meet. Somewhere near Fryeburg  -73Nancy you are in Oxford, ME so not too far from you....

Saturday June 25th - ride from Maine to  Canadian border - ~6 hour ride from Oxford, ME - for Canadian Border crossing are there any other crossings that might be closer for the ME crowd - Jason?? Just looking at alternatives.

Sunday June 26th - Ride from Canadian border back home. (currently 7hr ride from Fredericton, NB for those heading to Boston, MA)

This could be done give or take a week extra. Lets aim for a latest Canadian handoff of July 2/3rd.

Current route proposed  -this will likely change but to give a rough idea...

Andy, I'm in Brattleboro which is in the opposite corner of Vermont from Burlington.  I'll ride up to Burlington with ya'll and across to NH/Maine.  At a closer date, we should exchange contact info.

Will you be on Rt2 or 302 from Montpelier into NH? My Father may join you on his SOHC. He lves on the nh side of the CT River between both rts. Im guessing 302? The Bath NH country store would be a great place for lunch and relaxing. It might be the oldest country store in New England? Theres an old long covered bridge behind it.

I just saw a better image of the map. Ill let him know. He will possibly join you in Woodsville NH.

Probably 302 unless KB02 knows a better route. And yes agree about the Brickstore - I was there last year. Good info!!

Tell your father to get his bike ready!!

I vote for 302 to 25 to NH112.  Perhaps we'll climb Washington with "IT"?  I think it's a must.  I've got good ideas about the Vermont route.  It's hard to go wrong here with roads.  Even the highways are beautiful; anti-billboard laws and everything.

If you do the run to the Canadian Border the following weekend Ill join you - go up on the Saturday and down on the Sunday? Ill see who else I can convince to join us for the long leg! Anywhere in Fryeburg is good. I only know the Dunkin Donuts/Gas station there - or meet on main street...if there is one...or Fryeburg Academy would make a scenic backdrop...

Cupcake - change your bars and it will make it more comfortable. Or seat? Got a pic of the bike?

Adam (Dragon79) is coming to VT with us...maybe be 5 or 6 riders on the Boston- VT leg?

cheers

Yeah Andy.  I put flat bars on it last month and, while it looks good, it really is chunky to ride.  I might just have to put her back to stock and get it over with.  I chopped this bike up pretty well aesthetically.  I haven't take any pics for a while because I am not really feeling how it's set up right now.  We'll see......

Saturday June 25th - ride from Maine to  Canadian border - ~6 hour ride from Oxford, ME - for Canadian Border crossing are there any other crossings that might be closer for the ME crowd - Jason?? Just looking at alternatives.

Comments? Riders? Meeting points?

Is June 25th handoff to Team Canada at Fredricton, New Brunswick firm enough to publish?  *hoping, hoping, hoping...*

Yeah sorry but cant guarantee the 25th for a border crossing handoff. We will try but since we are only riding on the weekends then it cant be for certain...I am going to Scotland for a week (28 May - 5 June) and will have limited internet while there....then week later its Rhinebeck, NY (11/12th) and handing it over to the CT riders - WHO STILL HAVE TO CONTACT ME!!!

Then week later it goes up to VT and over to NH/ME......so it looks good for a 25th handoff but...we will see....

ANYONE else in VT/NH/ME want to join this ride????

Cupcake -while not so cool looking stock K1 bars are great bars for long distance...K3+ bars are a little higher and not as cool ;)

73Nancy - Ill be riding my K2 which is setup similar to yours...if I can do it on this and being older than you, then you can def do it on your bike! (which looks very good!!). Ill not be staying in Maine for a week - I wish! I dont have so much vacation time so will be returning the weekend later for the border run....unless someone else can chime in and save me from riding it...3 weekends in a row on my K2 will be interesting...

cheers
Andy

The border crossing indicated on the map at Houlton is probably the best one to use. There are a few little ones around but from what I am told that one is quicker to get through and the roads are nice coming back Fredericton way.

Ah thanks Jason that will def work! We can take Rt 2 on the ME side to avoid the highway. Ok lets do it there! And yes will probably make the 25th. Lets aim for that.

Ok 73Nancy that means a 4 hr ride to the border from Oxford - maybe a little longer if take backroads but will be better! Lets go for that. Ill likely camp somewhere up there after the handoff and come back Sunday.

Since I no longer have a car and ride to work every day I am renting a car for this weekend to get my K2 tire changed...this is all I need before the ride and bike should be good to go. Will be interesting thats for sure.

Keene, NH here.  I can't do an all day or overnight deal, but I'd love to meet up in Northfield, MA and ride up into VT with you guys as long as I can -  Maybe ride with you until we reach Jamaica, VT.   So far the calendar is free...

Andy, I'm here. Just watching the thread daily for any other CT riders.  I'll be taking the handoff 6/12 from you in Oxford, we just need to pick the place and time. I'll PM you my cell number. 6/18 is Mods vs Rockers in Connecticut so that is a must do, great photo ops. I will be available to hand off to the RI crew on 6/19 at The Vanilla Bean Cafe in Pomfret CT.  If the dates don't work out for some reason, I can adjust my schedule.

Keene, NH here.  I can't do an all day or overnight deal, but I'd love to meet up in Northfield, MA and ride up into VT with you guys as long as I can -  Maybe ride with you until we reach Jamaica, VT.   So far the calendar is free...
K.

Sounds good! Watch this thread for updates...looking forward to meeting you. We did a Fall Ride to Keene before Christmas (November I think) and it was a good ride on the backroads from Boston.

So that would make the New Brunswick crossing Saturday July 2nd?
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Yes but I am also open to ideas/suggestions....I know its difficult when we are all only weekend riders.
