Hey Team New England!

Justin (Operator) is the handoff rider for Eastern Canada.  He is located in Fredricton, New Brunswick.  Can you have your handoff rider connect with Jason to arrange handoff details?

Also, are there any New England riders who plan to ride into Canada?

Thanks!
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Works for me, the only issue may be the border crossing as I do not possess a passport. However the border crossing close to me is a very small one, I am sure if we explain to the customs guys what we are doing they will likely be pretty cool about it. It's Canada for god's sake!!!!  As long as Godzilla will consent to a search, we should be all right!  :)

I'd hate to think we'll need to throw Godzilla over a fence making him an illegal emegrant into Canada!  Will there be a Maine rider with a passport who can get the G-man over the border without the hail of gunfire?

Dont worry I will take care of it. I have a good throw ;)...and failing that Ill make the trip to the border...was in New Brunswick last year on the K4 so a repeat venture is not a problem.

I did a similar route last year - the Mainie part via Sebago lake is wonderful riding - sweeping empty country roads....here is the proposed route for this year...2-day or 3-day round trip from Boston.....let me know if you can make it to this border crossing...

Hey, New England, what route are you taking to Woodstock? The Mid-Atlantic gang sounds like they're meeting in NJ just North of the GW Bridge (which is 100 miles due South of Woodstock). I'm thinking about taking the ferry to Bridgeport, Ct. Does the NE crew have a planned group meeting spot for the ride to Woodstock? The mileage of this trip is adding-up; any overnight plans/parties planned?
Just wondering...

I see....I think it would take a long time and be less fun one rider at a time....

Are any NE riders meeting on the way before hooking-up w/ Mid-Atlantic gang in Woodstock? Mid-Atlantic gang is talking about meeting around the last week of May on the Palisades NJ side of the GW Bridge then ride 100 miles to Woodstock. Anybody in NE thinking about overnight plans before and after that rendevous? Ie: its a little over 200 miles from Boston to Woodstock.
Memorial Day weekend is a VERY difficult travel situation in the Northeast, especially NYC. On the other hand, it allows some riders an extra day to travel. EXACT dates for this tour not ready yet TBA. Unfortunately, the holiday weekend I am pretty much unavailable to take the tour.

I've NEVER gone on a group ride w/ other CB750's & SOHC/4's (all my bros have modern motorcycles), so I am really looking foward to this.

Ok after reading Seans epic ride about picking up and handing off in CA we should all be inspired!

Bobby R and I have hatched a plan to meet at Rhinebeck Vintage Motorcycle Show, NY......June 10-12th.

http://www.rhinebecknationalmeet.com/

We may/may not ride to Woodstock as well - most likely as its 30 min away from Rhinebeck and crossing the Catskills is a great ride. So start planning now -this will be the weekend (June 11-12th) it will enter New England and Team New England (TEN) take over....

A couple of thoughts....someone mentioned taking it to CT and I know Ken in RI is itching to get it there....so I could drop it off in Oxford, MA or somewhere along the route coming back on the Sunday from Rhinebeck...from this handoff it could make its way through CT and into RI. I can then arrange for it to come back to Boston from RI....let me know!

From Boston it will head North to NH and VT....crossing back into NH and up the Maine Coast to New Brunswick for the Canadian handoff (sometime around 4th July weekend)........for these parts we need riders in VT and NH and ME to suggest routes and meeting points...so start posting here...I will ride from Boston to.....anywhere....let me know...

cheers
Andy

Boys,

Not sure what your schedule looks like but we crossed the snow covered continental divide on a C O L D snowy day to bring Godzilla back on schedule. 3 cold days actually following in the foot steps, er tire treads of Ofreen and 3 of the same days for him too. Godzilla's heading your way and will be in MO or IL this time next week. Get 'em tuned and ready!

adam

Sure thing Adam you can be the point guy since its your general area. Lets do the hand off at the concert area...i was there many years ago and its a cool spot.

Andy

OK Andy, that would be Bethel. I have not been there since 1969

Jeeze, guys. I can ride from Woodstock to Bethel in about 20 minutes. Granted, that's Woodstock and Bethel, VT. :D

I know a few good Northern VT routes, but not too many southerly routes. If you're hitting rte 100, the Ap Gap and Smugglers notch are great rides right off of 100.

Andy, do the CT riders need to pick it up in Rhinebeck? I am game for anything in CT. Do you have a preferred handoff in CT?

I think the Vanilla Bean Cafe works for the handoff to RI. I can bring it there or part of the way.

No Ill be picking it up in Rhinebeck on June 11th and coming back to Boston on the 12th. If there is somewhere along this route I can hand it off to the CT riders  let me know. How about Oxford, MA? Or anywhere really along the MA-CT border....let me know! Time wise it would be around mid-day.

Then the CT riders can go off and take some typical CT photos (?think of anything typical CT) with Godzilla before handing it off to the RI riders......RI riders where are you??? A pic of Godzilla at Jamestown/Newport/Newport bridge etc etc...would all be great ;)

cheers

I'm still in Brattleboro Vermont.  What's the upper New England plan?  I'm in school until June 17.  It sounds like the timing is perfect here.  I wanna see "IT".

Ok sounds good to me. We can coordinate nearer the time and swap phone numbers.

You have about a week in CT....although really depends on when RI riders chime in.......

You tell me ;).

As mentioned Ill be coming up through Brattleboro after June 17th....and we can ride up to KB02 to handoff to him.....then....we need some NH riders to take it from KBO2  -anyone?? Then get it over to somewhere in Maine....Maine riders?? (73nancy you have been noted) - need a NH rider to coordinate with) then I (and others?) will take it to New Brunswick...

At each of these stages if no one else chimes in Ill do it...

Rough plan so far:

MA – CT : cb550fcafe      (June 12th)

CT – RI: ??? riders needed!!    (June 18-19th? or before)

RI - MA: handing it back to me  (June 25-26th? or before)

MA –VT: handing it to Cupcake and KBO2 (July 2nd-3rd)

VT - NH:   ???riders needed!!      (July 9th-10th or before)

NH - Maine: ?? to 73Nancy/others?  (July 16th - 17th or before)

Maine – New Brunswick/Canada: Me/others to Jason/Operator  (July 23rd-24th roughly!)

Ok fill in the gaps!

This can be shortened if....I meet Godzilla in CT at the Vanilla Bean and ride with others to RI and then back to Boston....so timing may be brough forward by a week at each stage...all depends on the RI riders....
