The "Hand-Off" refers to the passing of the baton as part of the "SOHC/4.net Round the World Relay" that is described in the parent thread of this thread.

You don't have much time for this year's (the very first) relay, the "Baton" (a piston toting Godzilla) is in PA now headed for New England:

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=86686.msg1004344#msg1004344

but there's always next year!

not sure on the camping i would love to but i cant store anything on my bike all i can have is a backpack. so im not sure on that. if we can figure something out in canada if i can get accross that would be fun.

Like I said before, if anyone wants to stay at my place, about an hour from the border crossing, I can supply a tent and sleeping bags. We might even make you guys breakfast!! Us Canadians are good hosts.

I have spoken to the organizers of the Rhinebeck Show. They have invited us to do our handoff ceremony inside the event, and feature it as one of the their events. They will also include it in their newsletter and take pictures of us. I am emailing them details of the Rally.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

If you can make it to Brattleboro, I have a shop in the basement.  Between all of the guys riding in this we can make you go.

I'll be in Lake George NY for Americade 6/7-6/10, handoff there? Probably not a good time frame since the Rhinebeck bike show is that following weekend 6/10-6/12 when Andy will get the handoff and some great photos I'm sure.

Americade would also work if you want to do that. You can check in the NY thread if anyone is going there. I am flexible!

Ken - the ride on the 19th can take us all the way to VT and we can hand it off to Cupcake in Brattleboro.

73Nancy - if you dont have a passport we can just hand it off to Jason at the border and decide from there either camp somewhere in Maine or ride home. Camping sounds good to me though.

cheers
Andy

Who is the New Hampshire hand-off person? Who should I coordinate with as far as a border meeting?  I'm thinking I can haul it across the border either on the 21st or 22nd if I get it on the 19th.  Driving rain dis-cluded from my calculations.

Could do an overnight I guess. Depends on where Cupcake will take us once we get to Brattleboro? Handoff location to KB02?

Thoughts?

You are the ones who will dictate where I ride.  You'll have mile and miles behind you by that point and you might just want to throw Godzilla through my picture window and high tail it home.  I have a loose plan as far as a route.  Obviously, it will go north and slightly west from where I am.  I am waiting to hear from KB02 to see if he will be around for the run.  If he's is not in, I will not hit Lake Champlain unless there is a general consensus to do so.  If I take off on that Sunday, who's going to stick with me and finish the week out?  I believe that Andy is in and there's a chap from Cummington Ma (sorry I forgot you name). I have a gent from Keene interested and some local friends as well.  I can make a week+ long trip out of it and then hand it to New Hampshire folks (whoever they are).  I am aiming to get to Mt. Washington (via a lot of Vermont) on this run and then see how I am running.  I may finish the run to the international border.  That is the plan thus far from Cupcake.

When and where can you join us again?  My itinerary is trying to get "it" to Canada on the 26th with plenty of time to explore stuff like mountains and lakes.  That's all we have up here anyway.  Who was it from NH that is the handoff guy again?

Ill be coming up with Ken and others on the 18th and going home on the 19th....if you are taking a weeks tour through VT/NH I can meet you for the ride to the Canadian border on the 25th coming back down on Sunday 26th. If you decide to go to the border on the 26th then I cant make it sorry.

Is this your plan?

I have spoken to the organizers of the Rhinebeck Show. They have invited us to do our handoff ceremony inside the event, and feature it as one of the their events. They will also include it in their newsletter and take pictures of us. I am emailing them details of the Rally.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Good news Bobby! Ill be seeing you there on the Saturday. Most likely Ill ride out after work on Friday or get up really early and leave Saturday morning.

cheers
Andy
