Don,

Sounds great. Looks like we'll have some miles to cover in UT and KS still. I think we can make KS happen but would like some more local KS riders involved. UT is a bigger issue currently like MO is for you.

Here is the spread sheet with a fairly recent update.

I know what you mean about how long on the bike. I think my leg cramp still goes away after 45 minutes but a hiway bar would help that. Naw, can't go for the look.

Take it from your friendly Pharmacist, tonic water will immensley help the leg cramps. I personally flavor mine with gin  ;D tastes pretty nasty otherwise. Tonic water = quinine water. Quinine helps free up bound calcium in the system. Once calcium is freed up it can travel into those cramped cells allowing them to relax.  8)

For the MO leg (KC to StL) are there any ideas floating around?  I know I 70 is the standard way to get from the one city to the next, but its so boring.  50 hwy is an option to get you from KC to StL-would be a lot better scenery.  Any thoughts?

Would definitely recommend Hwy 50 over I-70.  If you're wanting a few more curves, recommend hooking up with 94 just north of Jefferson City and follow it east towards 47, then south on 47 to hook back up with 50 again.

These are good suggestions. and if you wanted to split off, back to 70, you'd be close enough to it to do so, ( near the 47/94 split.) About 35-40 miles from there to St. Louis. And there's a fuel stop on 94, about halfway in between Jeff. City and Washington at the 94/19 crossroads. 94 is a beautiful ride, rode it many times.
You do need to stay alert. A little of everything, and like a roller coasterr in places.

I'm in north-western NY, I am planning on crossing the bridge and doing some of the Ontario run, but I'd also be interested in hooking up in the Columbus area and doing the western half of the Pennsylvania leg.

I'd be in for part of the Missouri leg if during the actual event I can get a heads up as to
where and when the ride has progressed. Gotta give notice at work, and they gotta ok it.

DH,

Here is your likely partner to receive the handoff from: Eydugstr - he is in the KC area

You guys will be working within our 2 regions and working together to make this work for you.

Don, I'm in S western Pa and plan to get in on this ride. I'm about an hour from the Ohio/Pa line near the rte 70/40 corridor. I can hook up anywhere along the eastern Ohio line and go from there. If I remember right, the original route projection went along southern Pa and into Maryland. The Mid Atlantic group has eastern Pa covered, but western Pa is kinda open. I'm be looking forward to relay.

Great! you may be our hand-off guy! Do we catch W Va. there also? I've ridden around Chambersburg and to Ocean City and back from there. Been on the turnpike a few times too. Thanks Paul!

If the route comes across 40/70, you cross through a small section of West Virginia between Ohio and Pa, if not, we can head south and hit Morgantown and head east towards Maryland.

If whoever comes out of the Indy area would head toward Cincinnati, I'll meet up with them and carry on toward Columbus, maybe further.

So far it looks like Drummer, DH and me for eastern and central Mo. My dad drove a truck and did what they called KC turns. I may get to repeat his route followed by a chicago turn. Hoping for a nice size group!

I will be able to give a more definite answer on my ability to ride once we have date that is somewhat set in stone.  Also, the length of riding will depend on what bike I am riding.  If my 750 is done I will be able to go longer.  If not, I am not sure how far I want to ride on my 550.

This is a good oportunity to get a few of our buddies out of the garage and on the road! I've called a couple guys and they are talking about coming along.

Also check the master list to see if your name is on it yet. It is the bottom sticky right now.

Thanks!
