I have left several messages for the lady at AMA. At this point I am assuming they are un-interested in what we are up to. Would still be neat to go as a group and wonder through the place. I am most likely going to meet everyone where ever as it would appear that if I am on a bike it will be the Kawasaki not the Honda .. It's having issues again. I may not have parts before the ride.

Cinci to dayton is easy. I grew up in this area. I am assuming we want to avoid the highway yes? Let me work out a couple different routes and you guys can see what you like.

My best suggestion from Cinci to Columbus is take I71 north out of Cinci up to State Route 42. Then take SR42 all the way up through Xenia until we hit I70 just outside Columbus. Jump about 3 exits on I70 and hit the AMA Museum. This route is straight forward and takes us through the countryside with some great scenery.

From Columbus to Toledo it's not quite that straight forward.

We could return to 42 taking it north to 33 north. That will take us around Marysville past the Honda Plant. (Photo Op?) Take 33 North up to 68 North until we pick up I75 in Findlay on into Toledo.  This is a lot of ground to cover in one day but is doable at a reasonable pace.  I have driven/ridden all of this before and it's all good roads with nice scenery.

So the hand off date is the 15th in Cincinnati?  If that is the case  I am probably only good for an overnighter... I have payroll for my employees and I don't think they would let me miss that!  Dang   I really was hoping for Memorial day weekend to tear it up with Godzilla!

Check the schedule post at the team central front page. I believe I Cincinnatti is on the 16th. I know it can't be perfect for everyone but don't worry, it isn't perfect for me either.

Don,

See you in Topeka this coming Monday! Last I heard JamesB was asking what we had planned for staying over. He has a contact at a motel. Don't know any details. I'll be the only Colorado guy there and will need to get a place. I'll head out Tues afternoon in all likelihood.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Don I think the issue is that people started planning according to the master schedule on the dates we came up with a week or two ago before the dates were put up in the central forum.

old school no one has really spoken up with a schedule. how bout this people

Tue  5/10           Handoff to Team Central - Topeka, KS
Tue  5/10           Sedalia, MO
Wed  5/11   St. Louis, MO
Thu  5/12           Galesburg, IL
Sat  5/14           Chicago, IL
Sun  5/15           Indianapolis, IN
wed 5/18           Cincinnati, OH
 thur 5/19         Toledo, OH
friday  5/20   Cleveland, OH
sat  5/21           Greensburg, Pa
sun  5/22           Handoff to Team Mid Atlantic -

are any mofre pad days needed by anyone

What happened was a discussion about padding dates so we would have more time with Godzilla in this part of the country and then this schedule was posted. It was asked if it was contested by anyone and the answer was "silence."

Therefore most of us started planning off it. Unfortantly based on the actual dates I wont be able to join you guys, I still recommend the route I posted. Have a great ride! Hopefully I can catch you next time though!

According to the schedule being kept by Old School Is Cool, which is the closest to anything official we have, and I'm sure a guideline for all the major team to team handoffs, 'Zilla is ours between Wed. May 18 and handing off to PA Sat. May 21. PA hands off to team Mid-Atlantic 5/22, which seems a bit short.

I say we stick to that schedule or perhaps do hand-off to Glen a day earlier in PA if he needs more time.

Even if "Zilla gets to me on the 16th, I can always kidnap the little bastard for a couple days and stay in my hide-out.

What say you all?

If we are riding cinci towards Toledo starting on the 18th I am in. I will likely meet you guys half way up somewhere between cinci and c-bus. If there are any other Dayton folks pm me and we can figure out our meetup here before joining pop and master chief.

From the 10th to the 22nd is your time, do with it what you will.  Just please keep me up to date as the schedule is part of the Motorcycle Classics Blog and has public exposure.

Psst, you might even be able to talk Mid-Atlantinc out of a few days, but you didn't hear it from me!!  :-X

If you take care of it.

Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

To the folks riding down from Chicago.....knowing that the arrival date of G is not in stone and all....just an FYI that the Rockers Reunion is taking place on Saturday, May 14th.  How cool would it be if a hand-off could take place at that event.  I went last year and there was a huge turnout...lots of fun and many beautiful SOHC4's.

http://www.rockersreunionindy.com/

The other hand-off option originally mentioned was the Indy Speedway.  We are coming up to race time soon, so not sure what all's going on there.  Depends on the day I'm sure.

In related news....I've communicated with a few of the Hoosier folks and it still appears that the amount of participation is still going to hinge on whether or not we can ride our leg to Cincinnati on the weekend.  If G gets here as scheduled on Sunday the 15th and it's too late in the day to go on to to OH, I'm not so sure we are going to have anyone to ride during the week (don't shoot the messenger).  Personally, I MIGHT be able to take a day off to ride during the week if I had to, but what's the point of riding alone if a group of guys can join a few days later on the weekend....after all, that's the whole point of this event, isn't it?  What's the rush?

I brought this up a couple pages back.....seems like lots of concrete plans are being made using estimated arrival dates and I just hope that there's a few days-worth of flexibility down the line so that more people can be involved in Indiana.  I realize that the Hoosiers have not been chiming in here very often, but I think that's because folks are waiting to see what the actual date is going to be when G gets here.

Hopefully some of the guys will pop in here soon as G gets closer.

Hey Indy Four, Thanks for the update! One of the rally points I mentioned in Cleveland (Pride of Cleveland Scooters) is a sponsor of this event in Cleveland, but it's in August. Still cool have G in the midst of all those vintage bikes at their store though! (Note: I'm not affiliated with them at all!).

The dates from my perspective will have to be flexible anyway, G makes it to Cleveland when he makes it and if G has to stay the night at somebody's house, that's OK.  We're trying to do best case, but in any respect, we'll have to all be flexible.  Good luck and having G at the Rocker's event would be awesome!

In my case I took off the 18th through the 22nd so I am very flexible as long as it doesn't happened sooner.

IndyFour, the Rockers Reunion looks cool. Seems like you need to assert your will on the folks leading up to delivery to Indy. All you are looking for is one day earlier. If they can get down there on the 14th, say in the morning, you and the Indy crew can do the Rockers gig that Saturday then head down to Cincy on the 15th, Sunday. There's your weekend.

And if you do get here as early as the 15th, I can still hold G hostage until the 18th and do the Ohio plan from there.

Going to Indy on the 14th would be awesome. I'd like to do the Chicago to Indy ride, and can do either the 14th or the 15th. Normally I would be able to get work off if it came later, but unfortunately that week is one week I have to be there.

So as long as we're riding on the weekend, just let me know where to meet up in Chicago.

It will not be difficult to get few days out of Mid Atlantic. We have been working wit New England to do the handoff at a Vintage Bike show in Rhinebeck NY instead of Woodstock, so we have a few days to play with. We only need the hand off riders to get themselves in synch so we can get the downstream riders ready.
