Probably not.  The PO of my '81 CB650 had mounted an 18" Comstar from a CB450 at the rear.  The axle was thinner; the brakes smaller; smaller overall width squeezing the swingarm together.  Dangerous setup.
Now  1972 CB350FX (experimental v2.0)
        1981 CB650c Custom with '79 engine (wifes)
        1981 CB650 engine
        2004 HD XL883C Custom
        1977 Yamaha XS750D (in progress)
Then 1972 CL175
        1964 Yamaha YGS-1T

Spacers would help that. More trouble than finding the right rim perhaps, but if you really wanted 400 rims you could probably do it and you might not need  a machine shop except for spacers.  It would take very careful measuring to center the sprocket in the right place.

Just saw these 750 comstats, pair for $40 bucks. Off an '81 with brakes, it appears. Not sure about fit issues, but someone would know more about the swapping.

I guess it depends on what you have as far as disc brakes, speedometer cable and  how much modifying that requires , if any.

Put 'comstar' into search and you'll get 16 pages of threads.

There were different ones of those i beleive, some came on the 400 twin/
