I hope it can still make LR by the 17th. I may have to pull some real trickery to get off work more than I have planned already.

It's HERE!! Not the prettiest thing in the world but should clean up nicely. Before I do anything I'm going to drain the oil, pull the pan, take off all the covers & clean clean clean. I have a gasket set to replace all of those and a hex bolt set as well.

re: birmingham to LR.. I had originally planned to ride all the way to Shreveport, where I'm from, and then up to LR to meet y'all. That's not going to happen for me though, so there's no need to go all the way across LA. You guys could just "dip your toe" into that most corrupt of states and then head north up to AR. Would definitely save y'all some time.

Personally I'm planning on making it as far as Jackson, MS and then heading back to Nashville.

Ray & Jason - I'm totally down with making the KY trip into a one-day affair and maybe taking IT out on the town that night.
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.

Where are you guys coming from in TN to take the hand-off? I was initially thinking that I would be meeting the TN guys near Bowling Green. I was looking forward to the picture ops with the giant T-Rex and Godzirra outside of Mammoth National Park. It sounds like I might be heading more towards I75/TN now. I really don't care since the only bad road in KY is the highway. I have other people that might tag along, so I would like to get things pinned down a little so we can plan.

I'll be taking the hand-off on the 2nd from WV (Civillechopper).

Sure did! His SOHC is in pieces, so I'm still the handler. He is included in my "other people that might tag along".

I wouldn't mind riding along with you guys. I wont be able to carry the prize but a nice ride would be fun. I'm just south of Lexington and not a stranger to daylong rides.

Is OKC at the end of the day 4-18 still do-able?

I'll say it again and some of the guys will hate me - GO BIG BLUE  ;D

Hope you can make it irregardless of what you're riding. It's about the journey.

So if we do the handoff with Silverback on 4/9 in Russell Springs, what should the pic be? How about with one or two notable residents, according to the town's Wiki page: either a former Miss USA and/or the Guiness World Record holder for The Most Straight Jacket Escapes In One Hour. Discuss.

Cool! Just wanted to make sure that everything was set. So, hand-off at Russel Springs on the 9th. Maybe we should amend this to the big-plan map/dates. Looks like I have some nice riding ahead of me.

April 9th is also the Spring Fling Race at the Lake Cumberland Dragway. Might make for a good photo op/handoff location, though technically it's in Jamestown.

Not much else going on in Russell Springs, according to their Tourist Commission's website

Russell Springs is nice, could always do a Cumberland Falls  ( the roads leading to and from are killer) or meet up at a Marina on Lake Cumberland.

If IT is going to Shreveport then it might be silly to go all the way back to Little Rock when maybe Radam and I could meet up with IT in Texarkana and come up 71 to VB and then over to OKC.

Did we ever find out who was going to pick up in OKC ??? not trying to mess up the ride but if there is no one there who the heck will we drop it off too?  I have yet to see anyone say they were going to be in OKC.. I must be missing something.

its all good my route from jackson to little rock put me into top corner of louisiana before cutting up anyway so i can "dip" it into louisiana, or if yall wanted to meet in shreveport or texarcana i could just go straight across and meet there, the advantage there is i could camp at or near caddo lake. but im open for whatever yall wanna do.

Hey Cody, Coke & Radam, when you get a plan, let me know and I'll get it posted.  Same for you guys, Tugboat, MidTNJasonF, and Spanner.  My first attempt at free camping bombed, but when Jeff Ray returns from Bike week next week I'll hit him up, surely Barber's will work something out for Friday night.  If you'd rather stay in a motel, let me know what your price range is, and I'll check out what's available.  I'm trying to get Martha to let me do a cookout in the back yard Friday night.  If I'm not sucessful, I'll set up someplace for a group dinner.  (and BEER). ;D ;D

I have friends in and around Little Rock so I was going to go there a day early to hang out, but if we need to meet in Texarkana that's fine too. I just need to know where the other guys want to meet us.
