I have not been real active here lately  :( and only saw this a few days ago. I have to say it's absolutely great!  8) I wish I could participate more but my motor is still locked up. What I can do is recommend a place for pics (overlook of the Mississippi River with bridges in the background) and maybe some local press. I work for the local paper and depending on when IT comes through we may be able to send a photographer and/or a reporter. I'd love to meet up with y'all to take some pics myself and get inspired to get my @$$ in gear and get on the road.

Hi John,

What's the planned route in Alabama?  I'd like to participate if the distances involved aren't too great.  My bike and my body both start to act up when stressed.

Proposed route - Birmingham, AL (Barber Museum) to Jackson, MS via Starkville (home of the "famous" Starkville City Jail - see Cash, Johnny)
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Barber+Motorsports+Pkwy&daddr=33.44909,-88.82237+to:jackson+ms&geocode=FWCt_wEdEGXW-g%3BFYJk_gEdnq20-ikfbFMedDWBiDGdGomFgH7m_g%3BFQXX7AEdluOf-ikhG3SQfysohjGgOPBB5M0TBw&gl=us&hl=en&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=0&sz=13&via=1&sll=33.522363,-86.69981&sspn=0.112484,0.263844&ie=UTF8&ll=33.107648,-88.291626&spn=1.808278,4.221497&z=9

BamaBiker the proposed route goes right through the Northport area. We will be leaving out from the Barber Museum in Leeds and head West. The pace will be vintage bike friendly and the total distances covered each day will not be extreme. Do as much or as little of the distance as you like.

Riders, please post your logs here:

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=85509.0

Be as detailed or brief as you like, but please share any eventful moments of your ride, interesting people you may have met, what you liked the most, etc. Don't need lots of pictures, maybe one of the handoff or maybe a group shot of the riders you were with for however far you were able to ride. You don't necessarily have to be the one that carried the baton, but you do have to have already ridden in order to post there.

Please reserve that thread for RIDER LOGS ONLY. Comments to the riders logs there would stretch that thread out to be quite large long before the relay nears completion. By keeping that thread limited to RIDER LOGS ONLY should help improve readability for many of our forum members. I have renamed the "Godzilla Sightings in Daytona!" to "Godzilla Sightings in Daytona AND BEYOND". Please continue to use that thread for posting comments, quick updates, creative pictures of Godzilla, expanding upon the unfolding story of Godzilla's adventures, (almost) anything goes in that thread. Please reserve the Rider Log thread for factual reports and rider's insights only. Our forum moderator will be deleting comments from the Rider Log thread to help promote it's linear progression as our Relay moves forward.

Enjoy the ride guys, Godzilla's comin your way!

Sounds good to me. I'll go visit my friends in Hot Springs then head up to LR Sunday morning.

Coke, do you want to meet me in Hot Springs then go to LR together? Also, anyone else in AR can meet me there.

From Jeff Ray @ Barber's

Hi John,

Back from Daytona and other travels.

The program sound like it is shaping up! Do you have an official press release outlining the program? We can arrange for local media coverage if you have something to promote this.

The April 15th Friday afternoon arrival works well. The Track is under contract until 5 PM. We should be able to gain access soon after 5. You ask about camping. How many campers do you anticipate?

The track lap will be a  paced lap by me or one of our track employees. We just completed a trick CBX and a lap around the track on it may be in order!

Keep me informed as things progress………….

Hey JTB,

2 or 3 of us Atlanta area guys are planning on coming to Barber.  Camping would be great.  I think we will have (at least) Me, Trav-i and bluzeboy......Maybe a couple of more as well.  I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,

Radam,

I think I am just going to meet up at Little Rock.  I can let you know more later.  I have a little problem with my bike after all and am going to start working to fix it after spring break.  I would work on it during spring break but wife already has plans for us that wont allow that to happen.

have we ever made contact with the OK City connection?  if not we really need to think of going through OK to Durrant and meet up with a TX rider there.  It will get Godzilla through OK even if there is not a hand off in OKC

Hey guys what's the route to Barbers? I'm in North AL (Huntsville area) and would like to tag along for a bit if possible. I'll be at Barbers for the IRL race the weekend prior but there are worse places to spend two weekends in a row.  ;D

Roll call for Kentucky riders. There are a few people that were interested in making the ride to WV or TN. We are going to try and meet sometime later this week and map our routes (While having beers!). Just wanted to get a head count on who was interested in joining the rides and who might be interested in meeting up somewhere close to the Lexington area.

Currently: Me (75 CB750), Ben (Friend on 78 CB750F), Big Blue and Magnaman.

You guys riding close to Louisville? If so I may have you make a quick detour to Dixie Hwy and stop in Magnum's Cycles and tell the owner Bob that Drugman said hello. You'd be amazed at all the old Japanese treasure Bob has there!
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)
