I think it's great. Completely off-the-wall. Not my cup of tea, but I always get a kick out of guys who obviously don't give a rip about what other people think of their bikes.

I mean, who would you rather have a beer with at the loacal bar: this guy with his way-out Guzzi, or some RUB with a $50,000 "OC" style "chopper"?

A great example of what you can achieve when you order all the chrome do-dads in the JC Whitney catalog and toss in a few auto hubcaps lying around.

I'm gonna send this to a co-worker who rides a nicely restored V-7... oh, wait... it's after lunch so that might not be a nice thing to do! Ha, ha!

Golly. Yet another reminder that I really do live in my own little world. You should see some people's faces when they come over to our house.  I think this guy was a freakin genius.  I'd love to have them if I had the dough.

Under a lot of accesories lie three great classic bikes. That Hercules bike have a Wankel engine, in case you didn't know. I like the wheels; commonplace today but a work of art in it's day.

Stupid posting question I imagine, but when I put up a link I usually just copy paste it in and then anyone can click on it.
On this post there is just a Ebay #4622050313

Wouldn't it be just as easy while you are at the page to copy the URL and then paste it in to your post?

I haven't figured out any real short cut to get to these vague Ebay numbers.

Benelli also makes a fine line of Sporting and Tactical shotguns.  Best use one to put them out of their misery.

Seriously, kinda freakish, but would certainly start conversations anywhere you went.

I would need to wear a full-face helmet with a ski-mask on underneath though.

I had a 75 RE-5 Suzuki with the rotary. They was the smoothest thing to ride. 80mph and you could see perfectly out the mirrors, no vibes. They had a unique sound, kind of like a BSA and a lawnboy.

for getting more hp out of them was a learning curve in itself, mentally and wallet.

From what I know, the problem with rotary bikes is that the odd-shaped engine didn't really fit (visually) on a motorcycle. Suzuki had the best result but it turned out that the bike was heavier and thirstier than its stablemates the GS series, so it was really no improvement. Furthermore, the odd styling of the RE-5 didn't get many fans -unless the space age freaks and a few more-.

The Norton Rotary was probably the best approach. It was even the last british bike to win the TT -I believe in the Senior class-, but the NVT dropped it.

I was never aware that Norton ever had a rotary, interesting, thanks Raul. Found this if anyone else is interested.

Thanks for the clicky Bob and Raul for letting us know that Norton had a rotary.

By looking at info on it, it appears to be in the late 80's, correct?

I can tell ya my RE-5 was a tank and made the 750 feel like a mini bike when Dad and I swapped bikes when we did our road trips.

The interpol was sold as a law officer bike, but there was a road model and of course the race model. If I'm not wrong it was with the sponsorship of John Player Special. In my opinion, the Norton had the best looking rotary engine of the bunch. That bike was not that hideous.

Back to the original topic, I would have any V-twin Guzzi anytime, even the ones of the DeTomaso era. The V7 Special is a great race bike, but just about 200 or 300 were built.

Yep, its official, they are crap.

It looks like they were attacked by the accessory aisle at Wal mart and some Antique store. This does prove that just because there is alot of it it is not necessarily good.

Reminds me of Larry the Cable Guy "Ever fart so hard your back cracked?"  ;D

Thanks for the reply Ernie.
For instance the page this is on.
At the top of your page you will see http://www.sohc4.us/forums/index.php?topic=8118.15

A direct link to this page. You can do it on any page you are viewing simply drag your mouse across that page address and copy it then when you go to post simple paste it in a "Bobs yer uncle".
Control "C" for Copy .........Control "V" for paste on your keyboard. Or use your mouse.

I have chased these vague Ebay numbers before using a bookmarked Ebay item and then pasting in the # on the Ebay page but I find it a bit of a pain to leave the forum to do the dicking around. Perhaps there is a quicker way I don't know about, but it seems to me if you are already at the Ebay page..copy the address and then paste it in. Then it's a simple click for anyone to view.

My 2 cents,

ya - it ain't no thang... if you look at the icons above the reply box (when you are typing your response) there is a globe icon with a little sheet of paper...

just copy/paste the url out of the browser window  - just copy it just like you do when you copy the E-bay item number: highlight it and hit Cntrl C  - then when you get to our site do it the same way you do a quote when you quote somebody from the current thread topic, only instead of hitting the "quote" icon up there, use the hyperlink globe icon - it turns your text paste into a link.
