Yep or as per your photo 4,3,2,1 just remember that the coils are another matter entirely when you get to them, one runs 1,4 and the other fires 2,3.

Motor looks pretty good too. :)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

The firing sequence is 1,2,4,3.
The spark lead connectivity is 1 and 4 for the coil with the Blue wire, and 2,3 for the coil with the yellow wire.

As you sit on the bike, the cylinders are numbered from left to right 1,2,3,4.

Thanks man!
I can check later, but do you know off hand which color wire for left and right coils?

Your wires should naturally fall into position.  They've hardened so much over the years that they are more like plastic now, so they'll hold their routing form.

By the way, if you are going to rebuild that engine, then I highly recommend doing an ignition wire replacement too.  There is a good "how to" in the FAQ section.
