To bad about those haters. I quit posting on DTT as well. Just a weird vibe on that site. I dig your bike and I loved that video you made with the Black Keys. Never heard of them before that and now they are in heavy rotation on my iPod!
I think we all see builds we don't like or would have done something different. But to go out of the way to actually pm a guy to tell him you don't like something is complete douchbaggery. People need to learn how to be polite geez!
Exactly!! I see a lot of bikes on these sites that make my pickle shrivel.. Lol but I sure as hell am not going to pm or comment negitive bs about it or their efforts. As our seniors always say.. "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all" lol
Lol glad ya dig the B.K's.. Lol steady rotation in my gauge play list too. Hahaha.
Wow. That sucks about the hate-mail you received. I know that there are some folks that feel it is a crime to cafe or cut a vintage bike. That said, these bikes have been chopped and modded for the last 40 years. You buy it, you can do what you want with it. Of course, if it is a pristine bike to start with, it might make more sense to keep it stock/resto. Whatever. To each his/her own. I appreciate most of the different builds. It's all about what the individual owner wants out of it. I admire the recent young builder thread, who just wants to get his bike running and ride the bejeezus out of it. Hell, yeah!
Having purchased a ratty K7 and turning it into a period cafe, and then purchasing an even rattier K2 for a Mongrel new/old cafe, I like both styles. I like builds like Cheftustky that are pretty much bone stock restos, too. We all share a common passion for these heavy but functional metal sculptures. Rock on, Cam!
