Ok, right on. I guess I was hoping for a mega cheap-super-awesome hidden website with ludicrous deals or something. It'll be a guessing game trying to jet this thing so I'll need a bunch and I figured my local honda dealer would charge me a fortune. But I will check there.

No need to fret buddy. I know Sigma has a intire jetting kit for our hondas. 75$. No guessing game required. Lol

Fenders , I dont get why people dont run fenders. This part of the world it rains about 9 months a year, so when I see no fenders I get a lil crazy. besides no fender, your Bike is the Sh*t! I miss my 550

Thank you for your opinion.
But I didn't like the look of fenders on my bike. Test fitted a set and looked stupid. In my opinion.
And I don't ride this bike in the rain. This one is for fun. Not my daily.

Don't think I posted these...
Last thursday night I went to the Ontario Norton Owners club meeting. Great bunch of guys. Had a fun night meeting some new faces. Even Olivia was a hit with the Britt boys. They snap a couple photos of us rolling out. I'll be sure to come back again soon.

WOW!! Its been a long time since I posted anything here.. LOL.. been having to much fun riding the bike this season..lol

heads up TORONTO riders!!  HAHAHHA... if your looking for something to do Saturday mornings.. coming on down to Rise Espresso at 107 Mutual St. Toronto around 10am every Sat. for Rise&Ride. My buddy Dominik and I are trying to create a fun relaxed setting for bikers to enjoy a good coffee and great place to meet other cool minded motorcyclists. =)

last Saturday was our first meet. 14 bikes showed up and we all had a great time. Looking forward to more and bigger. =)

Hey RO, I looked through the build but couldn't find any details on you headers, what did you do to get that finish? almost looks like patina, really fits the bike well!

Hey man.
The headers are from an old set of Mac 4-1 exhaust I had. Made a few minor alterations to the cyclex pipe to fit the header. I used a simple wire brush wheel on the angle grinder to clean up the pitting in the chrome.

Hi Guys,

I'm working on my own cbr600rr transplant onto my 550 frame and wanted to run my spacer design past you guys who have done this before.

I am using 1979 sport alloys, so I have a 5 bolt pattern doing to 6 bolt pattern on the discs.

I have prototyped the entire thing using my 3d printer and have my disc spacers already at the machine shop. 

I'm now double checking the clearance on the new axle and spacers.  I am assuming that I should have the axle just slightly undersize on length so the spacers are compressed onto the bearing in the wheel?  ( I had looked at changing the wheel bearings to take the old axle, but couldn't find one with the correct OD to fit the wheel hub)  What do you think?

I'll do my best. Unfortunetly I didn't take a lot of photos when I had the front end apart.

I did not have to swap stems. The CBR600RR stem is right lenght. I bought the tappered bearing kit from allsballsracing.com . The forks fit like glove!

I had the machinist whip up a new axle. Same o.d. as the i.d. of the 550 hub bearings. The axle is machined at one end to fit the lower axle mount on the cbr fork leg. The other end of the axle has a thread on spacer to fit the other fork leg. (Make sence? )

Once the axle was made. The wheel was put in the forks and placed dead center. Measured out the space between the forks to the bearings. Made slip on spacers to hold the wheel centre.

Next. Measuring the distance between the centre of the caliper to the hub surface is how we came up with the disc adaptors thickness.

Using the the original "through" hub bolt holes. Was able to bolt down the discs/adaptors with just longer bolts than the stock ones.

Down fall is. Had to ditch the speedo drive off the hub. Therefore loosing the stock analog 550 speedometer. So I bought a Acewell digital gauge with speed/tac/singals/hi-low beams/netural/oil light on in one.

Also. With running two quad piston calipers. I had to run a front break master cyclinder/leaver off a 2006-2008 cbr600rr. She stops on a dime I tell ya!! Hahaha.

I like what I see, but perhaps you can start a separate build thread to detail all of the other mods (frame, tank, wheels, etc.)?

It appears you harvested several parts from a 79-ish 650?  If so, why not the motor, too?  I'm curious, but definitely start a separate build thread.

LUCKY!! We've seen our fair amount of rain up here. lol
