Paper gaskets source?
« on: January 02, 2011, 11:08:37 AM »
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a place to buy the paper gaskets that go between the carb bodies and the seats, and the ones that go on the screws that secure the petcock to the fuel tank.
It's for a 1971 Cb750 with no mods.
Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction!
Happy New Year!

I'm not familiar with the gaskets that you are referring to but in most cases it is easier to just make your own instead of trying to hunt down the original parts. Most auto parts stores will have a selection of gasket materials and you can just use scissors and an exacto knife to cut them out. I keep a hole punch in my tool box for bolt holes and a spent 22 cartridge to knock out smaller holes.

Thanks! I did think of that, but the material the gaskets are made from can't really be just paper, can it? They are exposed to fuel.

There should be some suitable material available. Just look at the different ones they have and read the package and you can probably find something that will work. It's been a while since I've had to buy some because a roll will last forever but as I recall NAPA had the best selection.
