Here is a free lesson. Absorb the recoil, dont try to stop it with your shoulder...

or your face.  ;)

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

Probably a large caliber handgun with a good sized hammer spur.

.300 with a big scope. Looked great looking through the scope, didnt feel so good a second later, though. I took a second shot after the pic without any more injury. I though the Mosin Nagant kicked hard.

That cut isn't from the way you handled recoil.  I coached shooters in the Marines for ten years and I can tell you that was from the shooter creeping up on the stock.

Could be. I was kind of leaning down propping the gun up on a bbq pit, probably not the best firing position.

Agreed. in the Oz Army we see similar injuries with new recruits fairly regularly, (although more usually above an eye, not in the middle of your forehead, you obviously didn't have hold of that weapon, ha ha!) we call it "Steyr Eye". That's why I like .22's.  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"
