the answer to my question is probably super obvious, but I am a total novice, so bear with me. I was given a 1973 Cb750 with the engine out of the frame and wiring harness removed and I am trying to figure out which wire is the positive wire to the starter motor.
While I am looking at the engine from the back on the left side there are two cables coming out of the engine-there is a group of wires (green, white, Yellow, Yellow, Yellow) that I am fairly certain is coming from the alternator, then there are two left over wires (green/red and blue/red) in that same group. There is also a big thick wire coming from the starter that the person before me labeled "to negative battery terminal".
the wires coming from the starter solenoid is yellow/red and black but I can't trace it any further because the whole harness is totally a mess.
was the person that labeled that big thick wire wrong? If not, where is the wire that connects to the starter is it one of the other two left over wires?
can anyone clear this up for me?
thanks.
