Hi rhos1355,
To answer your questions:
How would you propose getting all the sizes and dimensions for fabricating the parts?I do not have measurements for all CB750 series bikes parts. Since I have made the following parts for my friend in Redmond, US who owns an early 1972 model CB750.
Front Fork Pistons for CB750 K0 – K3
Front Fork Guides for CB750 K0 - K3
Front Fork Circlips
Front Fork Piston Snap rings
Tappet caps
O-rings for Tappet caps
Swing Arm Collar for CB750 K0 – K3[/li][/list]
I was able to measure the parts sent by him and also went through the manual and used the dimensions where ever it is documented. We tried the parts on his CB750 and only when I am satisfied, thought about selling them. That's one of the major reason I was looking for feedback from customers. I am after the feedback from fellow enthusiasts who bought and tried the parts that I make. This will allow me to make more accurate parts in future.
There are loads of parts that Honda has just stopped making and the few spares lying around are getting more and more expensive to buy, even on ebay.I agree with you on this! That's one of the major reason my friend asked me to make some spares for him.
Could you let us know more about your workshop. How big or small stuff can you produce? What about quality control? Shipping to and from India?I am in the processing of getting the website developed, up and running. Just give me some time and will definitely post the pictures. As of now, I have shipped the parts to Redmond, US and selling them in ebay. Hence the shipping for the parts is domestic to US customers.
I have never shipped any parts outside India other than to US. Hence ignorant to the shipping costs to rest of the countries . If you are interested any of the listed parts in Ebay "
http://motors.shop.ebay.com/vayum/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=" please let me know. I will find out the shipping costs here at the local post office and will let you know.
Can you send us a few pictures of your shop, and your staff making a few bits? All interesting stuff for us bike nerdsSure! Let me get the website up and running. I will also try to get a shipping module that will calculate the shipping rates from India to rest of the countries. Just not to set a big expectation, It's a small workshop with 2 lathes, milling machine and other equipment such as grinders, polishers etc. Very small when compared to the standards of workshops in other countries.
Thank you for your kind encouragement!
Vijay.
