From experience, some times the families shouldn't talk to you or you to them, it provides a reality check for all concerned, beside the first grand kid will open up communications again, I personally would have been thrilled if the wife's family wouldn't talk to me but then I'm a miserable old bastard. Anti-social. Nasty. With Uncertain Habits.

Sure Bill. A thoroughly nasty biker who grows great vegetables? How bad can that be?  ;D

Seems to me our wedding didn't cost much.
A chef friend did the food for under $400, the hall was
free because hero grandfather-in-law fought in some war, came back and opened the club,
and we paid for an open bar for 100+ people.

Still married after 26 years on.
 ;D

I wasn't a nasty biker in those days, at least the family in question wasn't aware of it, Cookindaddy, they didn't like me because I was ex airforce, and I listened to JAZZ, and I cooked (a little bit), also liked art galleries, came from Vancouver, and I refused to force my wife to do what they wanted and the greatest sin, I had a beard, oh and skipped church and figured Chinese, Indian, Sihk's, Aboriginals, etc were not the worst subhumans, in other words I might have been a free thinker. Not Good.

he did the right thing, but at such a late notice he should of helped with covering some of the expenses.  Just call it stupid tax and move on.

   Well Said. ;)

I hope he ends up with a male judge cause his defense is an easy one. "She tried to put us $100,000 dollars in debt even before we got married! Imagine what would happen if actually got married!" Nuff said!

If they got married, he would still have no chance of winning a argument...Most guys always have the last 2 words in a argument "Yes, dear"  ;D
