Saw this segment last night.
3rd year rider on a GSXR, new to the tail of the dragon, decided to take a passenger.
apparently she was videotaping, and held the camera in her hand. (mistake)
seeing that this road is all about cornering, you'd think that a passenger would want to hold on with everything they had.
apparently she was only holding on by her sphincty.
Kinda hard to lean into a corner, dontchathink!
they went into a R turn, and who knows if it was speed, late breaking, off camber corner, etc., but they went into the oncoming lane, and were broadsided by a car. she went over her riding partner, onto the hood, and over the car.
i suspect (the vid replay made it look like this) she wasnt paying attention, maybe looking at the camera to make sure she was getting the money shot, and missed the lean, which made it tough for him to get into the corner, so he sat up...
both escaped without broken bones or serious injuries.
