How far would you be coming into Saskatchewan then?

Any talk of the Iowa leg going to the national motorcycle museum? I'd jump in for a second trip to meet there. I'm riding team central first.

Don........that is the continuing hole in the ride route..........so far no riders to get to DesMoines and over to Omaha. From there we have riders to go north and get into Canada to reconnect with the US in Montana.

If you want to take an extra day to get to Chicago and include part of Iowa.......Great!  There may be some riders in NW Ill. that would join you. I know there are sohc/4 riders in Davenport because I see them when I go to the Chief Blackhawk show.

The other option is if my riders in Madison want to go to the Museum and then ride north along the river to La Crrosse.  I'll send a note to Mark Maderski at the Museum and let you know what he can offer.

Don't forget there's a serious lack of riders (none, to be specific) to get IT from the west side of Saskatchewan to Montana, and only one or two so far, to get IT from Montana to Oregon....

Aren't there some riders in the LLoydminster area or have they disappeared?  I would love to be one of the people to carry it from w. Sask to Montana but with the new job I'm not sure how much time I'll be allowed to take off... I only started yesterday so I'm a little sheepish about asking for vacation time yet... Sask (west of regina) is a span of about 650km (406mi) I believe that it is approx 460km (287mi) from North battleford (which is an hour or so away from the AB border) to the Montana border so its not a super long ride to do a big chunk of Sask...

I could easily cover the Iowa quad cities if that would help cover a gap. I don't think I have any mid to northern Illinois riders locked in except for my brother and maybe a couple others from here. I'm taking a poll of Chicago riders. I re-routed to chicago but am getting the feeling many of them are doing the wisconsin tour rather than Chicago to indy.  No problem, I just need to know.

I live in Bismarck/Mandan, North Dakota and June 11th and 12th we have a very large car show called Buggies and Blues where there is a seperate MC show at the KTM dealer. I-94 runs through the state east to west, and would connect Minneapolis to Billings. The cities along the way in ND would include Fargo, Bismarck and Dickinson. Visit www.buggies-n-blues.org . Last year there was alot of honda 4s and alot of the cafe resto's there. alot of fun and a ton of cars and bikes.

Hello Dennis,

I just found out about the relay through a newsletter from Motorcycle Classics magazine. Wonderful idea!
Do you need any riders for any routes througth North Dakota? I'm definately game for that!
I just signed up as a member yesterday, so it'll probably take me  a while to figure the site out. I have never been part of a forum before. Let me know, if I can be of any help.

that's the first I have seen a date and it does not look good for me. :(  I will check back occasionally to see if things change but as of now I will have to bow out of any ride routes.

Hey Mid West Team... quote from the PNW group...

How about it????

Hey guys, I'm up here in Edmonton AB, willing to participate. I cannot cross the border, as I do not have a passport, but I don't see any reason why I can't take IT down to the Calgary/Cochran region, after taking it from a Sask rider. Of course, that is if IT even makes it this far North.

I see a plan coming together! Thanks tomsweb! A Regina, Vonda, Lloydminster, Edmonton, Calgary/Cochrane run could come out of this yet!!
I can get it to Invermere for a pick up from Kimberley...

Thoughts AB/SK team???

Welcome Wopke.............in Fargo..........It looks like the route may be going north from you into Canada. Not sure yet.  When you get the time..........look through these pages and try to learn how to send a personal message to other riders already on board in the Souix Falls area.  We have 2 or more months to firm up the riders and the route.

Hi Dennis...wanted to get on here to watch the progress and be aware of dates, etc. as the ride gets closer to WI. I like the idea of staying off the interstates as well. Thanks for your efforts in scheduling this area of the ride.

Welcome Johnie................If the relay moves into Illinois in the first few days of June, I am trying to bend the route from Team Central to get up to Road America on June 10-11 for the vintage races and Motorcycle Classics Show. We will see how fast or slow things progress.  Yeah.....no interstates needed for this group!

Hey Dennis and everyone,

Just got off the phone with Ken at CycleX. Had to order some sleeves from him. Asked him if he knew about the ride. You guys have been invited to stop by his place and he'll set up a tent and do it up right for you. He asked to be kept in the loop. He was really excited about what we're doing. If your ride takes you by Hazelhurst that should be a great stop!

Jerry

Thanks Jerry...........Kenny K will also be at Road America on June 10-11.  I have been talking to Don R in Illinois about meeting me and other riders at the National MC Museum just north of Davenport Iowa on June 2-3, and then I (we) would carry the satchel on a route to get to Road America on June 10. The thought is to meet up with the MOTORCYCLE CLASSICS people for their ride & show at Road America. Maybe the banner could do a lap!!!  Several riders in the Milwaukee and north-Chicago area could then take the ride south and continue to Indy.

On the return route from Michigan, we could then go from the UP to Ken's place, then over to the LaCrosse party and on to the Twin Cities.  The next time we possibly would meet up with the MOTORCYCLE CLASSICS people would be the last few days of August if we can time the ride to stop at the Bonneville Salt Flats.  I was thinking that next week or so I would ask our riders to start firming up the ride route and hand-off points...........especially in Montana.

Well I know a few beautiful roads in southern MN around Mankato and New Ulm.  In new Ulm we could stop at the Schell's Brewery and tour there.

OK motoguy 23.......but your the designated driver (overnight accomodations)

Each day the picture becomes a little more clear..........

I'm thinking the route will be receiving from the UP (team Michigan) with a stop at Lambeau Field and then to my place for an overnight. Next day to Road America and then on to Milwaukee (hopefully a Tuesday or Thursday & a pic with the FONZ) and handoff to Madison and then on to LaCrosse (Party at Two-Brothers Honda).

Then on to the Twin Cities for a day or two (pic next to a bronz lady?) and then southwesterly toward Omaha for the northbound route through the Dakotas to handoff to Canada.  Will IT return to the US for a trip to Deadwood, Sturgis, and a meeting with our stone-faced Presidents?  Will Godzilla meet the supernatural at Devil's Tower?  Do we have more riders to fill in the blanks and provide overnight suggestions for others?

Opportunity...........Ken at CYCLE-X in Hazelhurst, WI, has offered to put up a tent or shelter and through a small party with his engine test equipment for Rally Riders if we can schedule a convenient day.  It looks like 3 or more of the Michigan riders are thinking of joining the party when they appear from the magical UP.  Apparently camping is encouraged in Ken's Yard.  No schedule yet but suggested for a Friday or Saturday in mid to late-July.

Sooooooo..........let me know how many of you will show up and I will make the arraingements with Ken at CYCLE-X.  Hazelhurst is on Hwy 51 about an hour north of Wausau.  The next day the relay ride will continue toward Green Bay, and then to my home (camping with a shower) near Road America.  If one or more of you want to take the handoff and carry IT to Milwaukee and then west to Madison and LaCrosse.........talk to me.

Well, Im willing to carry the torch from Milwaukee through Madison to LaCrosse. I could probably provide a Place to stay in Milwaukee or Madison.

I would like to meet Ken way up north there, so once we start getting some dates in mind I can check on vacation and see if I can make it happen.

I like this.........more riders...........VanZooden....I was planning on escorting the Michigan riders to Milwaukee so look for a handoff. More later on the Cycle-X stop.  BTW...Ken will be at the Road America Vintage Festival on June 10-12 and showing off his CB750 road racer. He has just partnered with Mark McGrew of M3-Racing.

Aaronrkelly.........sounds like a good Irish Pub........welcome to the group.  So it looks like the route will go from the Twin Cities down toward you and on to the west to meet with Splitt near Omaha.  Great, we think Don R from Illinois will cover the Davenport area.
