Hey all.  Would love to assist if I can.  I live in Omaha, NE and ride a 1982 CB650.  If the hand-off is already scheduled, I'd be fine with joining the group, and putting some miles on with you.  Let me know.  Zac.

Dennis, I should be able to take the handoff from Milwaukee over to Madison and probably up to Lacrosse. I'll just keep watching the dates.

By the way, I must have missed you up at RA this past weekend. I was there on Saturday parked over by the Motorcycle Classics show. I must have missed the VJMC tent as well. Even with the weather it was still a pretty awesome day of bikes and racing.

Theres a handfull of riders, including myself, in Nebraska that will be along for the ride here. We've got some routes in mind but we need some input from South Dakota riders for were the handoff will be at the state line. I think there was some talk about going to Sturgis and the Black Hills... is this a possibility? The vintage bike shop (Great Plains Cycle) in Lincoln NE is on-board for welcoming the SOHC4 crew with possibly a BBQ and ride. I can lineup a place for riders to stay also. Once we get some estimated Nebraska relay dates I can get the event setup with the shop.

If you guys make it to the Sturgis Rally there is a good chance I'll be there the first part of the week but not on a Honda  ;D. If so I'll have my usual place in Spearfish that others can crash at. No promises at this point though. The Buffalo Chip campground is always fun  ;)

Welcome to the grasscutter from Omaha........Several riders in the Omaha area.........should be quite a group to go north to Sioux Falls.

Hoodellyhoo is welcome to join me for the ride north and back to my place near Plymouth.........be sure to pack for an overnight at the Cycle-X stop.  Any other riders in the northern Wisconsin area are also welcome to join in.

I will be traveling to Idaho and back over the next 2 weeks............will try to stay in touch but its not so easy on the road.

I ride a bone-stock 1979 CB650 in Rochester MN, and would be interested in joining the ride in the SE MN or NE/Central IA area

Way too many names on the rider list to check all the time. I'd like to get everyone added that is NOT already on the list. If your name is not on the rider list please send me a PM and I will get you included.

Hey Everybody. I've been gone, but ready to get everything planned, so checking in. Wondering if the Minnesota riders have made a plan via PM, or if there is a plan yet to be made? If I understand correctly, Twin Cities is looking at the 6th of August? Is this correct?
Is this an accurate list? I'm sure I missed somebody, but not on purpose.

I'm pretty excited to see there are some riders coming out of Nebraska!  I may just take a handoff in Sioux Falls if at all possible.

I'm back from my trip to Idaho...........put about 900 miles on my K3 and the rest (3,400 mi) in the trailer. Yes, the rivers are high and the flooding is spreading.  I rode from Cody to Cooke City and endcountered snow-mobiles along the way!

Thanks for the post Accolay............I will check the list and add any others............Yes, we need to get our individual handoffs scheduled.........Michigan to Wisconsin (me along with others) on July 30th at CYCLE-X in Hazelhurst.......It looks like July 31 or August 1st from Milwaukee to Madison (I plan to visit the FONZ statue with Zilla and one or more 4-cylinder biker hangouts, need to coordinate with ZanVooden) ..........then on to LaCrosse...........Twin Cities.........down to Iowa............across to Nebraska (Hwy 20 is bumpy west of Fort Dodge) ...........then north to Canada.

So here is the rough route I'm thinking of taking for the Milwaukee to La Crosse portion of the relay. I'll plan to meet Dennis at Fuel Cafe in Milwaukee (up for debate and coordination) and after some time in the brew city head out to Madison to visit the capital for some good ole' zilla stomping photos. Maybe a couple stops around Madison, Then to La Crosse, where I hope I can pass off Zilla to next rider somewhere (not familiar with the city).

Looks like Highway 60 to Prairie du Chien, then north on 35 to La Crosse?  I will try to meet you in Boscobel or Prairie du Chien, depending on which day you arrive.  I reserved two vacation days July 28 & 29; looks like I'll change them to August 1 & 2, based on what I read here.  Does anyone think they will require shop space to check bikes?  Two Brothers Honda in Onalaska (just off I-90) offered work space to check over our bikes.

Considering the improvised scheduling, it might be hard to interest the local media in covering the pass through La Crosse.  I had visions of getting TV coverage of 50 wild custom bikes parading through town, but it sounds like it'll be many fewer mostly stock CBs, which is cool.  I'll consider my part a big success if I can carry Godzilla for a few miles.

OK guys............I see we are getting the routes and dates to firm up.

July 30th........Old School handoff to Old Scrambler ( with Hoodelyhoo) at Cycle-X, Hazelhurst.......overnight in Ken's yard.

July 31st.........Team Michigan, Hoodelyhoo & Old Scrambler to Green Bay, RA, and Old Scrambler's house for an overnight.  Monday, August 1st........Zilla moves to Milwaukee for handoff to ZanVooden at the Fuel Cafe - Lunch? Possible escort with Spikeybike and Skamagedon to Madison......Tuesday, Aug 2nd, ZanVooden route toward LaCrosse to handoff to DB22 for stop at Two Brothers Honda.

Now we need DB22 (Dave) to coordinate with Accolay for arrival near the Twin Cities on Thursday or Friday (August 4-5).  That allows for any weather delays.  Accolay has riders but its along way to get to aaronkelly near DesMoines...........

More dates and routes beyond the Twin Cities need to be planned.  Also, heads up to the Alberta and Sask riders...........Hykawy is no longer available to ride.

Assuming IT moves from the Twin Cities to Iowa on August 8-9-10..........and west to Omaha by the 13th, then north through the Dakotas..........my estimate is a handoff to Sask about the 19-20th and then to Alberta in a few days.  I am sure the Northwest Team is looking to arrange a date for a handoff near the Alberta / Montana border...........maybe August 26 or so?  The BUB speed trials at Bonneville (Wendover Utah) are August 27 to September 1.........and the Bonneville GP in Tooele, Utah, is September 3-4.

A lot of travel time depends on rider's work and vacation schedules...........Its no race but we seem to be getting Zilla a good view of a lot of great scenery. Now that the summer is upon us, no need to worry about snow and less rain should produce better riding days.

Does anyone know where/when the Alberta/Saskatchewan handoff will be? I can go as far as Lloydminster or thereabouts. Perhaps even as far as the Battlefords, pending the day.

And I'd join you anywhere up there.  If the crossing were further south, would even be willing to bring it north to meet with you, but last I heard it was getting up to Saskatoon, so the Yellowhead sounds promising.

Good to hear the relay is moving along nicely. I was wondering of relay riders wold be interested in taking the relay through Lincoln Nebraska for a stop at the State Capitol building and a local vintage bike shop? This would take the relay about 45 minutes West of Omaha. I'm guessing we'll have to go West a bit anyway since i believe areas of HWY 75 North of Omaha are closed due to the flood this summer. It would be a 3 1/2 hour trip from Omaha over to Lincoln and then to Sioux City. Does anyone know a good route from Sioux City to the Sioux Falls handoff?

Highway 12 out of Sioux City to Akron, Iowa is a nice 2 lane which travels between the Big Sioux river and the Northern edge of the loess hills. Turn West onto highway 48, then Right onto highway 11. Take highway 11 North then turn left when you reach highway 42, which takes you into downtown Sioux Falls, not to far from Falls park. This is a nice back roads route to avoid I-29 traffic.

Iowa riders, I might be riding the twin cities down to Iowa leg. Can you guys suggest a route and a meeting place in northern Iowa? I was thinking a good route would be to come down along the MN River Valley which pops out in Mankato and then straight down 169 and maybe meet somewhere along 169. Would that work out for you guys? The catch for me is I can only make it on a Saturday or Sunday.

I'd Like to Add ALL the "UNOFFICIAL" Riders to The Master Rider List

Gentlemen, Ladies, Riders, Team Leaders,

Somewhere along the line we have had numerous riders wanting to join in or actually join in the Relay without notifying me, the Grand Poobah, of such desire. I have requested numerous times that these participants please notify me with their information. I would like to make our master rider list as large and complete as possible. I promise I won't charge you an admission fee or participation fee other than the large smiles this Relay and Godzilla elicit from you. That is what this is all about!

Sooooo, with this in mind PLEASE send me a PM of your information or anyone you know that has not "registered" for this amazing event. The master rider list is located at http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=81240.0. Please take a look at it and let me know if you are NOT on this list! I'd like your name, city of residence and which Team you wish to participate with.

Thank you for you cooperation.
