Well CheeZee is staying with me tonight, Drinking my scotch...

The plan is to load him up and head out at 9-9:30am tomorrow (Tuesday) and meet db22 at Wildcat Mountain State Park at noon. db, if you need to get ahold of me tomorrow my Cell number is 309-231-one three two four. Depend on time I will probably join you up to Stockholm to meet srust then head back to Mad town. Looks like a chance of storm tomorrow after noon so it may be an interesting trip.

See you there!

*I will post my pictures from todays ride from Milwaukee to Madison tomorrow or Wednesday.

Steve: Okay, the Garden in Pepin.  Probably no earlier than 5:00pm or so. I ride like a grandpa, and this is supposed to be vacation for me.  Hope the kids from Mad City don't leave me in the dust.
Our plan is to leave Minneapolis around 3pm so we should be there around 5pm.  Hopefully the weather will cooperate.  We had a nasty thunderstorm today with high wind and torrential rain.  I have been without power since 1pm.  One half of our block is out till sometime on Tuesday.  I am running about 300 feet or extension cord from my nearest neighbor with power to run my freezer and fridge and for a limited time the computer.   Oil lamps and a coleman lantern for lights.  More are forecast for tomorrow, hopefully it will clear by the afternoon.   I have your cell phone number.

ZanV, srust58: Still planning on the Garden in Pepin?  Pepin is a bit farther north than Stockholm.

We have a schedule to get to the Omaha area..........and Welcome Steve-o from Texas, Its good to know that others are watching this event develop..........Now we need to hear from bord0080 in Sioux Falls, Ryani near Mitchell, cktaimxlc??? in Jamestown, and John VanDam in Fargo................Are you guys out there and ready to go..........it looks like the Omaha group is ready to roll your way next week.

We also need to see communication for the Canadian riders to take the handoff somewhere near the border.

Which weekend is it looking like it'll be making it near the ND/MB border? I'll be in ND this weekend, but unfortunately not on my bike. Also, do we know how close to the border the ND riders can take it? Easiest places for me to pick it up from an ND rider would be Northern Minnesota around the Warroad, MN border Crossing, or the Pembina, ND, or Neche, ND border crossings, if I'm free the weekend it comes up here.

Like I said earlier, I'm pretty booked up for the weekends in August, but if I can, I'd like to make part of this trip....in a perfect world I could pick IT up close to the border and make the trip up to Winnipeg and pass it off from there.

I'm working that out with "bord0080" right now. he's the only SD/ND rider that i've got ahold of that can join the relay. Were planning on meeting him in Sioux Falls SD on aug. 13th. Skunk Stripe are you in that area? sent you a PM. Other Dakota riders were looking for your help

I've PM'd those riders and heard back from bord0080 (he can meet us NE riders in Sioux Falls SD aug 13th) and John VanDam (he can't make the relay at this point). It looks like jneuf will be able to help us out with getting IT from the Dakotas to Winnipeg.

So the plan is forming..............Aug 13-14 the relay should pass from ND to Manitoba.  Now the Saskachewan riders can plan for their handoff to the Pacific Northwest Group (Ofreen) in Montana. I notice they have a new rider in Livingston Montana willing to go to Glacier Park. Thats a lot of open country for one rider to cover! Oh, I forgot, he rides a 750.

A lot of country to cover but OH WHAT BEAUTY! That makes it all worthwhile  ;) For anyone out there that has not toured this area you really need to put it close to the top of your list!

Accolay and I safely escorted Godzilla to Minneapolis after meeting db22 and ZanVooden in Pepin WI.  The rain had passed ahead of us and we rode under the trailing cloud cover for most of the way there and that kept the heat tolerable.  The sky cleared up for the ride back.

Godzilla is hunkered down for the night but will have a busy next few days in the City of Lakes.

So I just totaled it up. 635 miles ridden on my 78 750K over two days. 207 miles yesterday (Madison to Milwaukee and back) and 428 miles Today (Madison to LaCrosse to Pepin and back to Madison). Roughly 18 hours on the bike over two day.

I'll post some picture and such tomorrow maybe...

ZanV, Accolay & srust58: Very glad to hear that you made it to your destinations.  ZanV, you're in the 500 club!  My mileage total was a mere 247.7, but it felt like 500 on that 40-year old saddle.

Cheers to the Wisconsin Riders............Great Job Guys..........And I hear Cheezee had a great time!  ZanVooden....be sure to look me up at the Rocker Box...........I'll be wearing a white T with BUB Bonneville print on the back and sleeves.

It appears the Mn, Iowa?, Nebraska and Dakotas are covered with a possible handoff date to Manitoba about August 20th.  The Saskechewan handoff to Montana is looking good for maybe August 26-27-28???

The Relay Ride has now been on the road for 135 days and counting.  Questioin for the board........is there a possible rider in Hawaii for an island tour while the lizard is on his way to New Zealand?

Are there any other Manitoba riders on board right now? The weekend of the 13th & 14th is out for me, and I do have plans the weekend of the 20th, which I MAY be able to get out of for a little while...Since there is a chance I can't make it, I'm hoping someone else can step in!

Nice meeting you guys and glad you all made it back in good shape.

As for the banner I did scrounge up another piece of material the same size so now we can add a second and third page.  Sorry db22, this may leave you as the lone violator who popped the cherry of the banner front side.  Oh well, think of it as a place of honor. ;)

Just a friendly reminder, WE NEED DAKOTA RIDERS! I've heard from most of the SD and ND guys here and bord0080 is the only one that said he might be able to help.

We might need some western Minnesota and Canadian riders to help us out.

Looks like it will go along i29 up to canada then manitoba. Would that be correct? I think I might be able to do that if it is on the 13th or 14th.

I am just west of fargo but if I can make sure my gaskets hold out, I could meet at the nd/sd border. From there, I can go to the nd/canadian border. No passport so no cross.

Skunk Stripe......Great to hear from you........You guys are keeping IT moving across North America with now thousands of 'lurkers' watching in amazement that there are so many of these old bikes still running with confident riders crossing long distances. It makes me ponder the thought of a possible tire/chain/oil/ignition/fuel sponsor for the next sohc4 event.

Hey Old Scrambler,

In case I'm available for when IT hits the border, or any other Manitoban rider for that matter, what is IT all travelling with? Being prepared while crossing is always easier...don't want Godzilla getting strip searched at the Canadian border...that'd be tragic!

IT consists of Godzilla with movable arms and a plastic bag holding 2 log books, some pens and markers, and the banner that folds. The banner now has an attached sheet of vinyl for more rider-signitures.

Regarding border crossings............you may just want to agree to meet at the border. It would be cool to have pics of an international exchange.

Well as long as this goes down on saturday or sunday, I should be good. I think my gaskets will make the run!
So, how big is this godzilla? I got a sissy bar that it can sit against. What else should I have?
