First ride of the season!
« on: March 23, 2006, 06:20:40 AM »
Hey Everyone,

I finally took the old girl for a run the other day.  Installed the battery, and within a few minutes the bike was fired up.

It was only 3C (or 37 F) when I went for my ride but I still got her up to 70MPH and had blast doing so.  Now if the weather can get slightly warmer.  It still is a bit early to ride here on the East coast of Canada but if it's above 0 C, you usually see someone out riding.

Here's to a new riding season!  By the way, watch out for all the crap on the road leftover from winter.

Claude

Congrats for getting in the first ride. ;D
I did a brief - chilly  ride last week for about a hour or so.
I would of been out longer, but not having a front brake on a bike with
rear drums isn't my idea of safe.  ::)
Once the dual-disc project gets complete I will be ready to go..

I rode to work on March 1st, then two more times before the recent blizzard.  Now I'm waiting on the rain to clear the roads of salt.  It tends to get slippery when humid.

SteveD and I had a good run out yesterday, shame it pissed down all the way home.... Spring is here, whoopee....
Test drove a new Triumph T100, nice but underwhelming, got back on the 750F1 and really enjoyed how the old girl rode...

Ride a '78 CB550K in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Ay! I have ridden every month since March '05 with the exception of August (I was in the UK). However, technically, I did ride in August too as I had a tourists seat on a ride (100 mph+) around the open TT course in the Isle of Man. I count a ride as 100km or an hour - whichever comes first! I was out for two and a half hour today and in December'04, I put on my shorts on Christmas Eve and went shopping at the local mall for my wife's present. '05 /'06 has been a great year for riding in town but 15 minutes outside in any direction and it changes quickly.

Time is short!
