As of right now I am looking at a delay of a day or two at my place. I will be meeting the New England guys at the border on the 2/3 of Jul. I have an appt on the 4th I cannot miss. From there, I am planning on heading to Edmunston on the 5th. Handoff with Raynald and go from there.

Raynald, can you make the handoff on the 5th?? No pressure, we all have jobs and lives. If you want to save it for the weekend that is fine with me either way, but there is no point in heading for the border if no-one will be there to meet me!!;)

RickRR, requested shelter before going to Ontario.

My house is open for guest, in the Rigaud Qc Region (J0P 1P0)

Can not join you for the ride, but can provide shelter for one night.

So then ... would July 10th be a fair estimate to be coming into Detroit?

The 10th seems pretty aggressive,  That would mean riding each day back to back.  If that's the way the riders wana do that then GREAT!  Team Michigan will be there for the handoff.

What would work better, since there are a few riders from Team Ontario that plan to ride some in Michigan plus some Ohio riders that wana get in a few Michigan miles too is to plan for the ON/MI handoff for Saturday, 7/23.  That should make for a leisurely ride in Easter Canada.  Maybe take a few days off or add a few overnights (camping one night in Maurice Park maybe?).  Would also allow schedule changes to avoid bad weather too.

There are a couple natural hold points.  GZ could spend a few days with Bwaller before heading into Ontario.  Then maybe take a break at Pickering just before the final push thru Toronto, Niagara and into Michigan.

+1, I wasn't anticipating anything as early as 7/10

Ok .. just trying to catch up with the current progress.

With all of the knowledge I've gained in this community I feel I simply must participate if I am able.
And it's also "life as art" as far as I'm concerned... and I want to be a part of that!   :)

I'll be watching for updates.

I think I saw a sidetrack to Niagara on one of the maps... yes? no?

When ever GZ is at the QC/ON border I'm there to pick the ole boy up.I'll ride right to Detroit if I have to, but would appreciate intervention previous

Ok guy's what's up with the dates ?
I need to booked off from work and I asked shelter at cb750f2Mtl's place since Bwaller could be with us.
I don't mind being a bit further off but I just want to know when.
If you want to put the ride on the week-end of the 9 or 10th it's ok too I just wanna know :)

Let me put these dates out then have y'all poke a stick at it...

7/2,3 Operator picks up GZ at the Maine border
7/5 operator hands GZ to Charlevoix at the NB/QC boarder.  Charlevoix returns to QC and holds GZ til the 8th
7/8 Team QC ride to Maurice Park & camp
7/9 Team QC ride to Montreal for an overnight.
7/10 Team QC ride home
BWaller holds GZ til 7/14
7/14 Laracords &/or Whalli pick up GZ from BWaller, ride home (Ottawa, right?)
7/15 team ON ride to Algonquin to camp overnight
7/16 Team On rides to Pickering for an overnight
7/17 Team ON ride home
7/21 Team ON reassemble in Pickering
7/22 Team ON ride to Port Stanley
7/23 Team ON ride to Detroit for the ON/MI handoff at Noon.
7/23 & 24 Team ON ride home or continue on to Kazoo.
GZ held in Kazoo til the 27th, then heads north to Wisconsin handoff on the 30th. See the Michigan thread for details.

If Team ON wants to ride all in one shot, then have BWaller hold GZ til the 18th or 19th.  This schedule will allow plenty of rest & the ability to ride around storms. Should also limit the number of work days off for those who have that concern.

OK, start poking at it!!

Do you mean when should you arrive at Algonquin?  Guess that would've up to you and anyone else planning to camp. Afternoon would make sense to me. Enough time to set up, eat and enjoy some beverages! :D

Jason,

its OK for me for the handoff on july 5th, I just discussed with Denis who will do the ride from Quebec City with me:  we think that it would be more relax to leave Quebec City on july 4th and sleep near the NB border in the Degelis area which is about 10 km from the border.  On the 5th in the morning, it would be easy to meet you,  Degelis is on Route 185 which becomes Route 2 near Saint Jacques NB.  Don't forget to PM me your cel phone number, you already have mine.

There is always someone screwing things up and I quess this time I'm the one. Now that dates are clear the schedule has Raynald coming my way on a race weekend. Instead of fooling around further I suggest the next rider to the west be contacted and the hand-off proceed without me.

I'm sorry to do this but there are only four race weekends & I've been building this thing for three years. I looked forward to meeting some guys and participating but instead I'll fly the SOHC4 banner at the race track.

Again I apologize, I know well how tough it is to organize something where many people are involved.
