I'm really sorry for falling off this wagon, really quilty of not staying current. Obviously the route has really expanded, that's cool.

I'm an hour southwest of Montreal. Quebec City is 3-3.5 hours, Ottawa is two hours. Depending of course on dates, I don't mind riding five hours or so. Is there someone in Eastern Quebec riding from New Brunswick?

I have a big old farmhouse and can put up 4 or 5 guys for a night and some rural hospitality if we want to make a little bend in the route this way. Otherwise I'll just ride the route from wherever to there!

Is there someone in the east of the province riding from New Brunswick?

Yea, it took me quite a while to figure it out too!  The trick is to create a MyMaps account.  Then, create a new map.  On this map, use the balloon tool to place a pin on a landmark (click on the pin graphic to change the pin shape) and use the line draw tool with "follow roads" to draw a route.

Ok let's try this,
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=200580086646966717888.00049988bddc81d0964c5&ll=45.328979,-73.212891&spn=5.02787,9.876709&z=7

I did 2 road , 2 way ,in Red or the highway, in green.
took about the road Old school took.
we can mix match what we can take. Were gonna have to sleep in Quebec city and Montreal if we take only 2 way for sure and maybe with the highway also.

If you want to add up the time don't forget the piece of road shared by both route , quebec city bridge.

Here's my deal, I can meet bwaller (and offer him a place to crash) when he crosses the border from Maine. I am just outside of Fredericton. Depending on the next step I can either head East towards Halifax, or I can head North towards the NB/QC border (near Edmunston).

It seems that we are most likely looking to head into the maritime provinces after me, so I could get it to Halifax (or at least across the NS border) for the next leg.

Let me know what you need and I will work with it as best I can.

We seem to be spinning our wheels here guys.

Operator, the original route has expanded which is great but I'm in the west of Quebec (near Ontario) so I won't be meeting you at the NB/QC border. I asked earlier if there was someone in the east of Quebec but maybe not?

So I guess count me in for meeting up with someone in the Ottawa area and I can run towards Toronto on the route heading towards Muskoka and then south.

I would be interested in doing the same. Just noticed question, I would cross at Niagara.

Sorry to be a bit late to the game, folks....my 750's in pieces but I hope to have everything back together by the start of the riding season. Also a concern is that I'm a managing consultant, which means I never know when I'm around or not.

I live in Toronto and would be overjoyed to be part of this, will double-up with someone else on a leg to/from Ottawa or westward if it makes sense. Would be the perfect end to my rebuild!

Welcome aboard Boner & Wohali!  I'll put y'all down for the Toronto to Ottawa segment with Strawhouse.  Stay tuned for dates and route changes as planning is still in flux!

And Wohali, congrats on your rebuild!  I'm sure this little jaunt will be but a shakedown run for lots of long and happy riding!

Hi Bwaller,

Yes, there is some confusion going on.  I thought you were going to ride the New England route, but I guess that has changed.  No problem as the whole schedule and routing is quite fluid at this point.

I'm inclined to bend the route to your place so that some riders can be freed up from hotel costs.  A free place to flop is as good as several hundred km's in my book!! Joining the ride for as far as you care is also much appreciated.  Let em know which city you are in and I'll scout out some routes.

As for NB to Quebec riders, well, I still need to find some.  I also need riders in the Maritimes.  I know it's hard to commit without dates.  I'm hoping once dates are firm, we'll get more names tagged to segments.

I can cover New Brunswick in either direction from Fredericton. What direction will the relay come in from? Is it coming up from Maine? Either way I should be able to take it to Nova Scotia or to Edmunston. Let me know

I am in the process of trying to round up a few more maritimers in the meantime.

Awesome Jason!  I don't know what New England is planning, but they seemed pretty flexible the last time I talked to 'em.  Fredericton looks to be fairly well positioned for a pickup anywhere along the Maine boarder.  I'll try to steer "IT" as close to ya as I can.

One of the issues I suppose is crossing the boarder.  I don't know the rules as to who can cross, what papers you need etc, etc, etc.  Are you comfortable with a border crossing should it come to that?

I don't think so, in NY you can get across with an enhanced license, but I think the grace period is over, but be interested to hear.

I'll let you know, a buddy from work has gone back and forth to visit family in Maine 4 times now and had no issues. I'll look further into it and pass it on.

Hello,

I am back from holidays:  yes I received a message from Boswell regarding that terrific ride and I will be pleased to participate!  I just retired december 30th and I will have plenty of time for riding next summer.  I live in Chateau-Richer (Postal Code G0A 1N0), 30 minutes east of Quebec City.  I can host some riders in my house and I have a new garage behind it to park maybe 6-10 bikes.  Old Quebec is beautiful and depending of schedule, it will be a pleasure to guide the group.

Operator,

last week, my holidays were in... Rivière Bleue QC which was not far from your place Edmundston!

Maybe, I could ride up there next summer and join the group:  I would like to ride the complete Province of Quebec from east to west.

Operator,

I am sorry, I tought that you were from Edmundston!  I noticed that you were living in Oromocto, you are maybe based in CFB Gagetown, I used to work for DND as a civilian.

So, are you planning to ride from Oromocto to Edmundston?
