I mean &*^(*$really
« on: January 12, 2011, 12:06:10 PM »
ok. day starts out great. goin to pick up up pretty fair shape 78 k. kinda high miles but well kept ya know? get there and its snowing like hell in ohio right now but im determined to get the bike while the gettin is good ya know? ive learned to jump on a good deal quick cuz these 750s are gettin harder and harder to find for a good price. we push the bike up on the trailer and put down the kick to start puttin on the straps and as soon as i turn around the green horn lawyer im buying from grabs the quick strap and gives it one hell of a yank to tightin it up and pulls the whole f in bike over the side of the trailer. the dam thing looked like a bmx upside down gettin the chain serviced >:(  on a good note the only thing ruined is 2 mirrors and a cherry straight gas tank :'(:'( it's still a great day cuz i got another pony in the stable now but dam!
at first sign of me tryin to get it for less now cuz of the damage the guy said he'd just keep it and let it rot for less. well, i did pick it up very resonable i thought so.....
anyhow. thats how my 750 day is goin so far. still ahead but dam what a kick in the pants eh?
hope your sohc day is better.

Man that sucks!  I almost never let the PO help load the bike, I almost always bring the help so I know I can trust them.  Although the last bike I bought I did let the PO help because my normal help was on a date, and he did quite well.

Anyway I hope it won't cost too much too get back right, good luck.

Ha ha that was doomed from the start, he didn't have the nuts to give it enough power to make it up the ramp, plus his helpers were way to far away to assist with balancing the bike ha ha.
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Geez that really sucks mate, the PO damages your new purchase (after you've handed him the dough, I'm guessing) and then doesn't knock some more bucks off for what he's done? What a cock!

That vid made me laugh, reminded me of when I loaded a CB750K1 into the back of an army truck on my own in 1981, using an old door for a ramp! That ended in tears too, luckily it was going to a shop to be repaired anyway, so the bent handlebars and busted mirror was of no real concern.

I hope you got it really cheap mate.  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Sounds like he was a real dipstick. Don't let that ruin your honda fun. I dumped my K0 off the back of a tow truck getting it home and dinged a cut fender, Threw my leg under it to save it. OW! But it was still a hell of a deal.

I meet a guy who is permanently in a wheelchair because of a failed "ride'um up the ramp" loading attempt.

Be careful out there kids.

I drove my sled through the truck back window one late night. Turned out the cool rear slider window was a cheaper replacement for insurance.
 I'm just saying 8)

P.S. I have never dropped a bike on a load up, but I sure a #$%* wouldn't ever let anyone film me while doing it ;)
I tend to look for a lower ditch type set up so the load or unload is not that steep.

Your seller was a dick/
You might recall a recent thread here about seller's famous last words.
My first post was something to the effect " . . . ok, I've got this end."
It came from my first bike buying experience wherein I bought an old Ironhead Sporty. It ws at the top of a slightly downward sloped driveway and as we went to roll the bike toward the ramp and truck, that's just what he said. 2-3 secs later I've got this thing fully on the ramp but it had come to a complete halt. I turned around only to find myself alone.
This project started in confusion and will end in disarray.

Here's another "How not to load your bike"

not funny, girl would had gotten slapped in her fat face

I was reminded of this clip i saw recently...

Side note: I used to own a VT1100C3 Shadow Aero similar to the one in the video.

ive been pushing gold wings and harley baggers up onto lifts and the trailer at work for the last year, and with 9 dudes around they cant push that bike up? he deserved to get that thing smashed up for being so stupid

reminds me of this

i have a 94 EG hatch like this at home, i would never; put my girlfriend in to load it, if it was just a shell i would not have the G in carbon fiber fenders/hood installed, and i wouldnt throw a hissy fit because my dime a dozen hatch fell a few feet when she could have been really hurt. douche
Wake up, look up, there's a warmth up there
a reminder of peace, a reason to care.

those were some pretty good vids. I noticed the back fender is buckled as well but looks like it'll be ok for the most part. prob has all kinds of bent up little tweeks on it now. don't really know yet. after i felt like puking on my boots when i seen him pull it over off the trailer i just got it back up, strapped down and got the hell outta there. bike is still sittin out in the snow on the trailer. guess i'll go unload it after breakfast and see what all ill have to look through my parts bins for. it's just a damn shame is all. ya'll are right too. the po is a cock wad. the #$%* of it is the guy didnt have to touch anything. the freakin straps were already in place and waiting for the other side to be cinched down.  o well  8)
