Hey all I decided to dredge this thread up one more time to let let everyone who helped me know that everything is working great now.  I finally got a chance to ride it last night and man was it worth the wait.  Again thaks to all who helped me learn more about these carbs then I ever would have on my own.

Thanks

Travis, congratulations on sticking with it and a good result. In the words of one of our Mods "carbs suck".  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I know this is ancient but 100% applicable to me now. You said it didn't work to replace the pump. Was that because the check valve on the carb was still stuck? Both check valves on the carb and in the pump cover on my bike are faulty(flow in both directions) although I cleaned the heck out of them, so I guess I'm in the same boat here. Im just about to blow torch them...

btw, after cleaning the valves were you able to make the nozzles in the throats spray OFF the bike just by priming it? I know Ive seen the test online in different vids but so many carb variations sometimes things don't exactly match.
