1975 Suzuki RE5 Rotary

Just picked this bike up the other day. I have only seen one on the road and that was back in 1976 or 1977.
This one only has about 16000 miles on it and is in very nice condition.
I have all the stock parts except the seat.
Looking forward to riding it in the spring.
Anyone know anything about these?

wow, that is an unbelievable find.  I also have only seen one.  Just remember they were supposed to be a very smooth cycle...Larry

Wow....great score mate, you going to bring it back to stock.? If it wasn't so bloody expensive to ship here i would love that fairing and bags.... ;)

ugly bike made uglier IMHO ...... saying that, still a good score, just keep it hidden for another 20 years by a dust cover or similar.

The fairing and bags are definetley coming off.
Hoping to find a stock seat, but I'm guessing it may be difficult to find.

  I've got a buddy nearby, who has restored 3 of them and sold for a nice profit. He has one now, that is still in the unrestored stage. He worked on them at the local Suzuki dealer, back in the day. He's the one I got my CBX from. Does nice work. Good luck with yours. They really have a different sound. Not real quick acceleration, but when cruising, will wind forever.

only one real big draw back and that is the spark plugs. Special and hard if not impossible to get. There was one in the las vegas auction that had only been ridden one season and then stored in heated garage. Look to be in perfect shape. I haven't seen what the results of the auction was. I have always wanted one and a friend of mine has two...a 75 and a 76. what you have is the 75 with the rolodex instruments and tail light. Take good care of it and you will get a lot of great comments on it and if you want to sell it...I know a lot of people who will be very happy to make you an offer.

+1 on the spark plug-Was going to mention that. They are weird as is the whole engne concept.

Yup and the block cracks in the area of the spark plug(s)---2 if memory serves

It is a single plug, and yes it is very weird.
Although there are 2 plugs in the saddle bags and the one that is in it works.
I want to ride it some, just to say I have. But I don't think I will be making it my daily rider.
It would be interesting to see how much it is worth.
But the only reason i sell a bike, is to buy another one,(or two).
