Well...Almost 3 years after i started this bike...All I have left is to set the timing, rebuild the petcock, and get some original mirrors...I'll have to get some better pictures put up. This bike kind of got put on hold for a while, while i overhauled an 81 CX500c I had given to me...I already had a parts bike so i didn't have to put much money into that one. Rode that bike all last summer and it just doesn't do it for me. Thinking I might sell that one this year...
The list since last update of my 750 k1 ...
Aftermarket 4-2 slip-on mufflers with original headers.
put on the seat i got off ebay that's in decent shape
New handlebars, had to fish the wires through them...took forever
Soldered wires inside right hand switch to get the lights working right
Stainless allenhead bolt kit
Synchronized carbs with motion pro tool
adjusted valves finally today, and cam chain
fork seals and fluid
got the new tank lined and everything painted
replaced all cables
new chain and sprockets
new neutral switch o-ring
oil pan gasket
brake pedal off a 70's 750 hondamatic to clear the aftermarket exhaust
rebuilt front brake caliper
replaced rear rim with used, not bent rear rim, and new spokes for the rear laced and trued myself
new tires
battery
new plugs...again
tweaked air screws on carbs to get it to run and rev up nice and smooth had to take them out to 1 1/2. just a little more than with stock exhaust...didn't have to re-jet
ran so good after that the idle went up to 2,200 rpm and ended up having to turn the adjustment for slides on the carbs 1 turn because i had no more adjustment in the idle screw.
got original style gators on the forks and chrome headlight ears
got an aftermarket left side cover w/out emblems
had to replace original key switch (might have already mentioned that)
found #4 spark plug boot was junk and sparking to engine...(electrical tape fixed that for now)
replaced rubber boots between carbs and airbox with new OEM ones
found out to NOT keep dumping oil in the oil tank after the bike sits overnight and you think oil is magically disappearing, when it's really just draining into the motor. (started it and oil poured out the overflow)
And numerous other things i can't remember at the moment
Overall, this bike was a great learning experience and I can't WAIT til it gets warm out so I can ride this thing on the road for the first time...
