Topic: 1979 CX500 value??

1979 CX500 with 4500 orig miles...1 owner bike.

only rust is on the front fender.  all electronics work as they should.  smooth shift and acceleration.  bike has been garage kept for all its life.  rear drive shaft is tight...no gear noise.  one tiny oil leak from the shifter seal...drips once a day (he says).

what is its value??

they seem to go in the 500-1k range around here. most ive seen have pretty high milage though...

this one is extremely low mileage, though.

the guy said he'd take $1k firm...just trying to see if its a good deal.

this one has been listed for a while.... i think he started at 1500. $1k sounds about right imo.

I sold my '82 CX500C (with more miles) in the same (apparently) very good condition back in April for $1300.  $1k sounds like a good enough deal.  Not really a screamin' deal or anything, but good.

Great bikes - I like 'em a lot.

Sold my 1982 CX500 Custom last summer. It was in better shape but had a 12,000 miles on it. Mine was near show room clean but had been upgraded to Progressive rear shocks, Progressive front springs, and upgraded brakes. I was asking $1500 and took $1250 and a craft case of beer from a friend. Included all original parts, spares, and manuals. Also included freshly adjusted cam chain tensioner, fresh valve adjustment, oil change, rear diff fluid change, and new plugs.
